By The Roofing Brief Team. Last reviewed: October 2026.

The RCMA membership program for roofing contractors, reported by Roofing Contractor on June 8, 2026, adds a new “Contractor Membership” category at the Roof Coatings Manufacturers Association (RCMA). The article does not list tiers or fees, so any cost comparison has to wait for RCMA’s own price sheet.

What contractors get

Per the Roofing Contractor report, the membership includes:

  • advocacy on building codes, regulations and legislative issues;
  • technical bulletins and discounts on training;
  • networking opportunities, a listing in an online contractor directory and promotional exposure through RCMA communications;
  • six complimentary passes to RCMA’s virtual training program for new members.

Early joiners can enter as founding contractor members and give feedback on the program. RCMA Executive Director Jenn Brake is quoted in the report saying that “contractors are on the front lines of the roof coatings industry.”

If you are Then the RCMA contractor membership is
A coatings specialist installing silicone, acrylic, polyurethane or emulsion systems Worth pricing: the technical bulletins and six virtual training passes target your trade.
A shingle or tile reroofer who rarely applies coatings Probably a duplicate of NRCA (nrca.net) and state association benefits.
A contractor who wants a directory listing Included in the new category per the report; confirm placement rules with RCMA.

The membership stack

Most established roofing operators carry several memberships at once: NRCA nationally, a state roofing association, and manufacturer programs such as GAF Master Elite, Owens Corning Platinum or CertainTeed SELECT. Our roofing contractor industry report tracks how widespread those manufacturer certifications have become. Our guide to roof coating types and cost covers the silicone, acrylic, polyurethane and emulsion systems that coatings contractors install.
