Nations Roof acquires Grizzly Commercial Roofing, a Lafayette, Louisiana commercial roofing contractor, in a deal Nations Roof LLC announced on June 4, 2026 through PR Newswire. The release says terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Grizzly was founded by Clint Baer and Phil Devey and will operate as “Grizzly Commercial Roofing, a Nations Roof Company,” with existing customer relationships and contacts unchanged, per the release. Nations Roof describes itself as a business-to-business commercial roofing contractor with more than 40 locations and more than 100 service crews, and its CEO, Robby Speights, said Grizzly adds trusted customer relationships across the Gulf Coast region and supports national account programs there, per the release and nationsroof.com.
What this signals
Grizzly is a regional bolt-on: a Lafayette-based commercial contractor joining a network of more than 40 locations and 100 crews. The same consolidation runs through the supply channel, where SRS expanded its Chicago distribution one day later (June 5, 2026) by buying the commercial roofing division of CORCO.
For independent commercial roofing owners weighing an exit, terms stay private, so the buyer’s diligence list (maintenance-contract revenue, crew retention, job-level margins) is the only part an owner can prepare in advance. Our guide on how to sell a roofing business covers valuation, buyer types and the sale process.
| If you are | Then, per the release |
|---|---|
| A Grizzly customer on the Gulf Coast | Contacts and relationships stay unchanged; the company trades as “a Nations Roof Company” |
| A national-account facility manager | Nations Roof says Grizzly supports its national account programs in the region |
| A commercial roofing owner considering a sale | Terms were not disclosed, so no multiple can be inferred; compare buyer types in our sale guide |
Who backs Nations Roof
Industry coverage has linked Nations Roof to Soundcore Capital Partners, a New York buy-and-build private equity firm founded in 2015 that, per its own site, reports 115 acquisitions and $1.8 billion of enterprise value acquired. Neither the June 4 release nor the Nations Roof website names an investor, so treat the backing as reported rather than confirmed by the company.
What to watch
The release gives no purchase price, Grizzly revenue or headcount, so the open questions are whether Nations Roof adds more Gulf Coast bolt-ons, and whether the next announcement discloses terms. Neither is answered in the June 4 release.
