Taylor Metal Products is the trade name of Taylor Metal, Inc., a privately held maker of steel and aluminum roofing and siding panels headquartered in Salem, Oregon, in business since 1985. It roll-forms panels at five branches in Salem, Oregon; Auburn and Spokane, Washington; and Sacramento and Riverside, California, delivers on its own trucks, and sells through its branches and building-supply dealers. It does not publish a price list.
This review is built from Taylor Metal’s own product pages, data sheets, installation guides and the five warranty documents it posts, plus ICC-ES evaluation reports, the Florida Building Commission product approval database, BBB records and dealer listings, all checked in October 2026. The finding most buyers miss: the paint system you pick (ArmorTech SMP or Kynar 500 PVDF) decides your warranty length, transfer rights and coastal coverage, and every Taylor warranty requires registration within 45 days of installation and full payment before it takes effect.

Who owns Taylor Metal Products?
Taylor Metal Products is owned privately, and the company does not name its owners on its website. The operating company is Taylor Metal, Inc., which appears as report holder on its ICC-ES evaluation reports and as issuer on every warranty form. Taylor says it has served the western United States since 1985 and describes itself as “the only supplier in the region with our own fleet” of trucks.
The ownership record that is public comes from investors and deal advisers. An industry news item in RCI’s April 2004 publication, now archived by IIBEC, reported that Pacific Northwest Capital, LLC had bought Taylor Metal Products, Inc., and the biography of a PNC co-founder on gorgeholdings.com says PNC “successfully acquired and exited” the company. We found no public filing naming the current owner, so ask your branch if ownership matters to your decision.
Taylor has grown by acquisition. ACT Capital Advisors announced in April 2017 that it advised Champion Metal of Washington, Inc. on its sale to Taylor Metal Products, a deal PitchBook dates to April 5, 2017. Taylor’s July 2025 website announcement says the new site combines “decades of experience from Champion Metal, Rolled Steel Products, and Valley Rolling,” which is why some dealers still list panels as “Champion/Taylor Metal Products.”
Two name overlaps confuse searches. “Tyler metal roofing” is usually a misspelling of Taylor. Taylor Made Metal Roofing & Carports in Jenkins, Kentucky, calls itself an affiliate of “the Taylor Metal family,” but Taylor Metal’s own branch list covers only Oregon, Washington and California, so confirm any affiliation with Taylor directly before relying on it.
Where are Taylor Metal Products locations?
Taylor Metal lists five branches, each with its own production line, and every one keeps weekday hours only. The Salem, Oregon headquarters serves the Willamette Valley, Auburn serves western Washington, Spokane serves the Inland Northwest, and the Sacramento and Riverside plants cover Northern and Southern California. Panel availability differs by plant, so the table shows which profiles each branch says it produces.

Source: taylormetal.com About page, site footer and individual product pages, October 2026. Taylor also lists a shared toll-free number, 1-800-574-1388. Taylor sells materials and does not list roof installation as a service; homeowners in the Willamette Valley who need an installer can start with our screened list of the best roofers in Salem, Oregon.
What metal roofing panels does Taylor Metal make?
Taylor Metal makes two families of roof panels. Exposed-fastener panels such as Tuff Rib, T-3, GR-7 and PBR are screwed through the face and suit barns, shops and budget residential roofs. Concealed-fastener standing seam panels such as Easy-Lock, Versa-Span, Clip-Lock and the MS mechanically seamed series hide the fasteners under the seam and are its residential and commercial premium line. The tables pull each figure from Taylor’s own product page.
Taylor Metal exposed-fastener roof panels
Taylor’s exposed-fastener panels cover 36 inches or close to it and are cut to length between 1 and 45 feet on most profiles. Tuff Rib is the economy panel; T-3 is the same 3/4 inch rib height on 9 inch centers and is offered in heavier gauges, and Taylor calls it “the roof and wall panel of choice for the Pacific Northwest Region.”
| Panel | Coverage and rib | Gauges | Min. pitch (Taylor recommendation) | Lengths | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tuff Rib | 36 in; 3/4 in rib | 29, 26 steel; .032 in aluminum (select colors) | 3:12 with butyl sealant | 1 to 45 ft | Tuff Rib product page |
| T-3 | 36 in; 3/4 in ribs, 9 in on center | 29, 26, 24, 22; .032 in aluminum | 3:12 with butyl sealant | 1 to 45 ft | T-3 product page |
| GR-7 | 36 in; 11/16 in rib | 29, 26, 24, 22; .032 in aluminum | 3:12 with butyl sealant | 1 to 45 ft | GR-7 product page |
| PBR | 36 in; 1-1/4 in ribs, 12 in on center | 26, 24, 22; .032 in aluminum | 1:12 with butyl sealant | 1 to 45 ft | PBR product page; Washington Cedar & Supply listing for coverage |
| Classic V-Rib | Deep corrugation; spans up to 6 ft | 24, 22; .032 in aluminum | 1:12 with butyl sealant | 3 ft to 20 ft 10 in | Classic V-Rib product page |
| 2-1/2 in Corrugated | Round corrugation | 29, 26 (bare Zincalume Plus or galvanized only) | 3:12 with butyl sealant | 1 to 30 ft | 2-1/2 in Corrugated product page |
Taylor’s online catalog did not list a 5V crimp panel in October 2026, and its corrugated and ribbed lines are the closest substitutes. Buyers who specifically want the Florida-style 5V look can compare the profile in our 5V metal roofing guide. For how Taylor’s Tuff Rib stacks up against the same profile from other mills, see our Tuff-Rib metal roofing guide.
Taylor Metal standing seam roof panels
Taylor’s standing seam range runs from 1 inch snap-lock ribs to 2 inch mechanically seamed ribs. Easy-Lock and StreamLine use what Taylor describes as a patented no-siphon dry lock seam that can be installed in either direction, while Versa-Span, Clip-Lock and Slim-Lock use floating clips for long runs up to 50 or 60 feet.
| Panel | Coverage | Rib height | Gauges | Min. pitch (Taylor recommendation) | Max standard length | Made in |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Easy-Lock | 12, 16 in | 1 in | 26, 24, 22; .032 in aluminum; copper | 3:12 | 35 ft | Salem, Auburn, Sacramento, Riverside |
| StreamLine | 16 in | 1 in | 26 (ArmorTech SMP only) | 3:12 | 35 ft | Salem, Auburn, Sacramento, Riverside |
| Versa-Span | 12, 14, 16, 18 in | 1-3/4 in | 24, 22; .032 and .040 in aluminum | 2:12 | 60 ft | Salem; CA version in Sacramento and Riverside |
| Clip-Lock 100 / 150 | 13, 17 in / 15.5 in | 1 in / 1-1/2 in | 24, 22; .032 and .040 in aluminum | 3:12 | 50 ft | Sacramento, Riverside |
| Slim-Lock | 12, 16, 20 in | 1-1/2 in | 24, 22 | 3:12 | 60 ft | Salem |
| T-Panel with batten | 12 to 20 in | Batten seam | 24, 22; .032 in aluminum; copper | Not stated | 60 ft (pre-curved to 3 ft radius) | Not stated |
| Loc-Rib | 16 in | 7/8 in | 26, 24 | 3:12 | 40 ft | Spokane |
| SL-15 | 15 in | 1-1/2 in | 26, 24 (24 non-stock) | Not stated | On-site roll forming for longer | Spokane |
| MS-100 / 150 / 200 | 12 to 20 in by model | 1 in / 1-1/2 in / 2 in | 24, 22 steel; .032 and .040 in aluminum | 1/2:12 to 3:12 by profile | Inquire | Per Taylor standing seam summary |
Source: Taylor Metal product pages and Standing Seam Summary Page (June 2026). The mechanically seamed MS series is the one to ask about for very low slopes, since Taylor’s summary sheet gives a 1/2:12 to 3:12 range for its standing seam line overall. Our snap-lock vs mechanical seam comparison explains when the extra seaming step is worth the labor.
What gauges and substrates does Taylor Metal use?
Taylor sells most painted panels in 29, 26, 24 or 22 gauge steel under its “Tru-Gauge” label, over a G-90 galvanized or AZ-50 Zincalume (Galvalume) metallic coating. Its product pages give the steel thickness before painting, which lets buyers compare gauges directly. Bare panels use AZ-55 Zincalume Plus, and aluminum, copper and a weathering steel are offered on some profiles.
| Material | Thickness or coating | Finish warranty | Where Taylor lists it | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 29 gauge painted steel | .014 in before painting; G-90 or AZ-50 | ArmorTech 40-year | Tuff Rib, T-3, GR-7, 2-1/2 in corrugated | Tuff Rib product page |
| 26 gauge painted steel | .019 in before painting; G-90 or AZ-50 | ArmorTech 40-year or Kynar (by profile) | Most exposed-fastener panels, Easy-Lock, StreamLine, Loc-Rib | Tuff Rib product page |
| 24 gauge painted steel | .0236 in before painting; G-90 or AZ-50 | Kynar 500 | Standing seam and heavier exposed panels | T-Panel product page |
| 22 gauge painted steel | .029 in before painting; G-90 or AZ-50 | Kynar 500 (select colors) | Standing seam, PBR, V-Rib | T-Panel product page |
| Bare Zincalume Plus (AZ-55) | Aluminum-zinc coating, no paint | No finish warranty; 25-year perforation | Most profiles | Taylor Zincalume Plus warranty |
| Bare G-90 galvanized | Zinc coating, no paint | No finish or perforation warranty | Tuff Rib, StreamLine, corrugated | Product pages |
| Painted aluminum | .032 or .040 in | Kynar 500; Alumiguard 20-year commercial | Many profiles; Taylor recommends it within 1,000 ft of salt water | Product pages |
| Rusteel Plus (A606) | 22 gauge weathering steel, no metallic coating | No warranty | PBR, T-3, GR-7, Easy-Lock, Versa-Span | Product pages |
The thickness gap matters more than the gauge number suggests. By Taylor’s own figures, 26 gauge steel at .019 inch is about 36 percent thicker than 29 gauge at .014 inch, which is why 26 gauge is the usual pick for houses and snow country. Our 26 vs 29 gauge metal roofing comparison covers the dent and span trade-offs.
ArmorTech vs Kynar 500: which Taylor Metal paint system?
Taylor offers two paint systems. ArmorTech is its silicone-modified polyester (SMP) finish, sold mostly on 26 and 29 gauge exposed-fastener panels and StreamLine, with a 40-year residential warranty. Kynar 500 is a PVDF fluoropolymer finish on 24 and 22 gauge steel and aluminum, and since August 2026 it carries a limited lifetime residential finish warranty. The table compares them using Taylor’s own descriptions.
| Feature | ArmorTech (SMP) | Kynar 500 (PVDF) | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Resin | Two-coat silicone-modified polyester | Two-coat, 70 percent PVDF resin | Taylor product pages |
| Film thickness | 1 mil (1.1 mil on GR-7 page) | 1 mil | Taylor product pages |
| Standard colors | 18 to 23 by panel and branch, plus bare Zincalume Plus and galvanized | 21 standard, up to 5 metallic and 3 to 4 specialized | Taylor product pages |
| Residential finish warranty | 40 years peel and crack; 30 years chalk (rating 8) and fade (5 Hunter E units) | Lifetime of the original owner on peel, crack, chalk and fade; 50 years substrate | Taylor warranty documents |
| Coastal sites (within 1,000 ft of salt water) | Excluded; Taylor points buyers to aluminum Alumiguard | Cut to 20 years finish and substrate | Taylor warranty documents |
| Transfer | Not transferable | Once, converting to the rest of a 40-year term | Taylor warranty documents |
| Cool pigments | Listed as meeting ENERGY STAR criteria | Listed as meeting ENERGY STAR criteria | Taylor product pages |
The practical split: ArmorTech fits barns, shops and cost-driven houses away from the coast, while Kynar 500 is the safer choice for a long-term home, a transferable warranty or a site near salt water. The general trade-offs between these finishes are covered in our guide to galvanized vs Galvalume roofing.
What do Taylor Metal warranties cover?
Taylor posts five warranty forms on its site, and they differ more than the product pages suggest. Each one limits Taylor’s liability to the original material cost, excludes labor, delivery and taxes, and does not take effect until the project is paid in full. The table summarizes each form as posted in October 2026.
| Warranty form | Covers | Term | Key conditions | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Residential Limited Lifetime (PVDF) | Peel, crack, chalk, fade of Kynar finish; rupture or perforation of substrate | Lifetime of original owner (finish); 50 years from shipment (substrate) | Applies to products bought on or after Aug. 3, 2026; 20 years within 1,000 ft of salt water; one transfer | Residential-Limited-Lifetime-Warranty.pdf, rev. 8/21/26 |
| ArmorTech 40-year (SMP) | Peel and crack (40 yr); chalk and fade (30 yr) | 40 years from installation | Continental US, Alaska, Hawaii only; annual documented washing; not transferable | Sample ArmorTech 40-yr Warranty |
| Commercial PVDF 30-year | Kynar finish; substrate perforation | 30 years finish; 25 years substrate | Starts at substantial completion | Sample Kynar 30-yr / 25-yr substrate commercial |
| Zincalume Plus AZ-55 | Perforation from rust due to material defects | 25 years from installation | No finish warranty; cut-edge corrosion excluded | Zincalume Plus 25-yr perforation warranty |
| 20-year weathertightness | Leaks through the roof system, materials and contractor workmanship | 20 years from substantial completion | Issued jointly with the roofing contractor for qualifying profiles | 20YR WTW pro-rated form |
Two inconsistencies are worth knowing. Taylor’s June 2026 Standing Seam Summary Page still lists a “40 year residential paint warranty” for Kynar 500, while the newer product pages and the August 2026 form describe a limited lifetime warranty. Commercial terms also vary by page: the PBR page lists 20 and 30 year commercial paint warranties, and the standing seam pages list 40 years. Ask for the specific form that will be issued for your order.
How to keep a Taylor Metal warranty valid
A Taylor warranty can be lost on paperwork alone, because each form says failure to register “shall relieve TMP of all obligations.” The steps below come from the posted ArmorTech and lifetime PVDF forms. Follow them in order.
- Pay the invoice in full. Every form says the warranty does not take effect until the project is paid in full.
- Register within 45 days of installation. The original property owner completes the registration form; Taylor then sends a Registered Warranty with a registration number.
- Keep the roof clean. Wash with fresh water or a mild detergent solution; pressure washing is allowed only up to 1,000 PSI and 4 GPM. The ArmorTech form requires annual washing that is documented.
- Avoid excluded contact. Treated lumber, incompatible fasteners or sealants, dissimilar metals, standing water and debris are excluded causes of damage.
- Ask before adding attachments. The PVDF forms list attachments such as snow guards and solar panels among excluded causes of damage, so ask Taylor how an attachment affects coverage before installing it.
- Report problems fast. The lifetime PVDF form asks for notice within 30 days of discovery; the ArmorTech form allows 45 days and asks for photos. Both require the registration number.
Does Taylor Metal have ICC-ES, UL or Florida approvals?
Taylor Metal holds two current ICC-ES evaluation reports: ESR-5046 for its roof panels and ESR-5045 for its siding, both with California and City of Los Angeles supplements. Its product pages also cite UL Evaluation Report ER25913-01 for UL 580, UL 790 and UL 2218 ratings. We found no Florida statewide product approval in Taylor’s name.
| Approval | What it covers | Status seen Oct. 2026 | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| ICC-ES ESR-5046 | Roof panels: Clip-Lock 100, MS-100, MS-150, MS-200, T-Panel, Versa-Span, BR-36, Classic Corrugated, GR-7, HR-34, Max Corr, PBR, TR-7.2; 2024, 2021, 2018 IBC and IRC | Reissued Nov. 2025; LA supplement revised Feb. 2026; renewal due Nov. 2026 | icc-es.org ESR-5046 |
| ESR-5046 fire classification | Class A or B per ASTM E108 / UL 790, only when installed as one of the assemblies in its Table 2 | Current | ESR-5046 Section 4.1.3 |
| ESR-5046 impact resistance | MS-200 steel panels meet IBC impact rules on slopes under 2:12; impact of the other panels is “outside the scope” of the report | Current | ESR-5046 Section 4.1.2 |
| ICC-ES ESR-5045 | TMP metal siding (steel and aluminum wall panels) | Reissued Apr. 2026; renewal due Apr. 2027 | icc-es.org ESR-5045 |
| UL ER25913-01 | UL 580 Class 90 uplift, UL 790 Class A fire, UL 2218 Class 4 impact, per profile | Cited on Taylor product pages | Taylor product pages |
| Florida product approval | No Taylor entry in the manufacturer list | Checked Oct. 12, 2026 | floridabuilding.org product approval search |
Read the scope lines, not the logos. A Class 4 hail rating that Taylor cites through UL is not part of the ICC-ES report for most panels, so an insurer or building official asking for impact evidence may want the UL listing itself. In Florida, Taylor’s PBR and Versa-Span appear by name inside UL roof-deck construction listings filed on floridabuilding.org, but a UL construction listing is not a Florida product approval for Taylor, so a Florida permit would need either a statewide approval or local approval by the building official.
California buyers get two extra details. Taylor lists ember-resistant ridge, endwall and peak flashings tested to ASTM E2886, and its ICC-ES reports carry California supplements with DSA and OSHPD sections. California’s wildfire roofing rules moved into the 2025 California Wildland-Urban Interface Code (Title 24, Part 7) on January 1, 2026, so confirm the required fire class with your local building department.
How do you buy from Taylor Metal Products?
Taylor sells direct from its five branches and through building-supply dealers, and its website asks visitors to choose a role (homeowner, contractor, distributor or architect) before showing products. Contractors open credit accounts and use branch order forms. Homeowners usually buy through an installer or a dealer, since Taylor recommends professional installation and posts no retail prices.
- Pick a profile and paint system. Use the panel and warranty tables above to narrow the choice, then download the sales and technical data sheet from the product page.
- Request color samples. Taylor’s sample request form ships product and color samples from any of its five branches.
- Get a quote from a branch or dealer. Dealers that list Taylor panels include Washington Cedar & Supply and California Shingle & Shake (both list “Champion/Taylor Metal Products”), Western Building Center in Montana and Idaho, and Conrad Lumber in Oregon; SRS Distribution also lists Taylor as a key supplier.
- Order with exact lengths. Taylor cuts panels to custom lengths and offers custom trim forms in 1-box, 2-box and 4-box layouts; contractors can apply for a credit account.
- Schedule delivery. Taylor delivers on its own trucks with flatbed trailers up to 65 feet, and a piggy-back forklift that can unload panels up to 40 feet at the site.
- Register the warranty after installation. Submit the registration form within 45 days and keep the registration number.
Taylor is also an authorized S-5! distributor for snow retention and attachment clamps, announced in October 2022, which matters in snow country where guards are often needed. The PVDF warranty forms list attachments such as snow guards among excluded causes of damage, so ask Taylor how a clamp-on attachment affects coverage.
How much does Taylor Metal roofing cost?
Taylor Metal does not publish prices, and none of the dealer pages we checked in October 2026 listed one; they ask buyers to request a quote. For budgeting, The Roofing Brief’s 2026 roofing cost report puts installed exposed-fastener metal at $6 to $10 per square foot and standing seam at $10 to $18 per square foot nationally. Western labor and freight can push a quote higher or lower.
The table applies those ranges to typical roof sizes. Figures are a Roofing Brief estimate, not Taylor pricing: roof area multiplied by the cost-report range, rounded. Steel panel prices also move with coil costs and tariffs, so treat a written quote as the number to budget against.
| Roof area | Exposed fastener (e.g. Tuff Rib, T-3) at $6 to $10/sq ft | Standing seam (e.g. Easy-Lock, Versa-Span) at $10 to $18/sq ft | Basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1,500 sq ft (15 squares) | $9,000 to $15,000 | $15,000 to $27,000 | Roofing Brief estimate |
| 2,200 sq ft (22 squares) | $13,200 to $22,000 | $22,000 to $39,600 | Roofing Brief estimate |
| 3,000 sq ft (30 squares) | $18,000 to $30,000 | $30,000 to $54,000 | Roofing Brief estimate |
Panel count is simple arithmetic on Taylor’s coverage widths. A 36 inch Tuff Rib or T-3 panel covers 3 feet of eave, so a 42 foot eave needs 14 panels per roof plane. A 16 inch Easy-Lock panel covers 1.33 feet, so the same eave needs 32 panels, which is part of why standing seam costs more in labor as well as steel. For a fuller breakdown by metal type, see our metal roof cost guide.
Federal tax credits do not change this math. The 25C energy efficient home improvement credit ended for property placed in service after December 31, 2025, under Public Law 119-21, and metal roofs had already stopped qualifying after 2022. Check with a tax professional about any state or utility programs.
What do BBB records and reviews show for Taylor Metal?
The BBB profile for Taylor Metal Inc (Salem, Oregon, with an Auburn, Washington address listing) shows the company is not BBB accredited and carries a B- rating. As indexed in October 2026, BBB gives the reason as “failure to respond to 1 complaint(s) filed against business.” The profile also displays at least one negative customer review.
A B- based on one unanswered complaint says more about complaint handling than product quality, and BBB ratings change as files are updated, so read the live profile before you buy. Taylor’s Salem branch also has a Yelp listing with customer reviews. The Roofing Brief has not tested Taylor panels.
Taylor Metal vs Best Buy Metals vs MetalMax
Taylor Metal, Best Buy Metals and MetalMax are all private panel makers that roll-form close to the job and deliver on their own trucks, but they serve different regions and publish different warranty terms. Taylor is the western specialist with ICC-ES reports and PVDF finishes; Best Buy Metals is a Southeast maker with online listings; MetalMax spans nine states, including one Oregon location in Hermiston.

Which one should you pick?
Location and paint system usually decide this before brand does. Freight on long panels is costly, so the nearest plant that makes your profile tends to win on price and lead time. The checklist maps common situations to a starting point; verify every term on the written quote.
| Your situation | Starting point | Why |
|---|---|---|
| House in western Oregon, Washington or California, long-term owner | Taylor standing seam in Kynar 500 (Easy-Lock, Versa-Span, Clip-Lock or Slim-Lock) | Local plant, lifetime residential PVDF form, ICC-ES report for several profiles |
| Barn, shop or carport in the Northwest on a budget | Taylor Tuff Rib or T-3 in 26 gauge ArmorTech | 40-year SMP warranty, 36 in coverage, custom lengths to 45 ft |
| Home within 1,000 ft of salt water | Aluminum panels with a site-specific or Alumiguard warranty | ArmorTech excludes the zone; lifetime PVDF drops to 20 years |
| Low-slope roof under 3:12 | Versa-Span (2:12), PBR (1:12 with sealant) or MS series | Most Taylor snap-lock and ribbed panels list 3:12 |
| Florida permit job | A product with a Florida approval, such as the MetalMax panels listed | No Florida approval found under Taylor’s name |

Taylor Metal Products is the trade name of Taylor Metal, Inc., a privately held company in Salem, Oregon, and it does not name its owners on its website. Pacific Northwest Capital bought the company in 2004 and later exited, according to an RCI Interface report and a PNC co-founder’s biography. Taylor bought Champion Metal of Washington in April 2017.
Where is Taylor Metal Products located?
Taylor Metal is headquartered at 4566 Ridge Dr NE in Salem, Oregon, and runs four more branches: 2601 C St SW in Auburn, Washington; 1010 N Nelson St in Spokane, Washington; 3443 Airport Rd in Sacramento, California; and 4880 Felspar St in Riverside, California. Each branch roll-forms panels and keeps weekday hours only.
Does Taylor Metal sell to homeowners?
Taylor Metal’s website offers a homeowner view with galleries and color guides, and its branches handle sample requests and quotes. Most of its business runs through contractors and building-supply dealers, and Taylor recommends professional installation. It posts no retail prices, so a homeowner usually gets pricing through an installer or a dealer such as Washington Cedar and Supply.
What warranty does Taylor Metal offer?
It depends on the finish. Kynar 500 panels bought on or after August 3, 2026 carry a residential limited lifetime finish warranty and a 50-year substrate warranty. ArmorTech SMP panels carry 40 years against peel and crack and 30 years on chalk and fade. Bare Zincalume Plus has a 25-year perforation warranty. All require registration within 45 days and full payment.
Is Taylor Metal roofing approved in Florida?
We found no Florida product approval under Taylor Metal’s name in the Florida Building Commission database when we checked on October 12, 2026. Taylor’s PBR and Versa-Span appear in UL roof-deck construction listings, and its roof panels hold ICC-ES report ESR-5046, but neither is a Florida product approval. Confirm the permit route with your local building department.
How much does Taylor Metal roofing cost?
Taylor Metal does not publish prices, and the dealer pages we checked in October 2026 asked for a quote. As a planning range, The Roofing Brief 2026 cost report puts installed exposed-fastener metal at $6 to $10 per square foot and standing seam at $10 to $18, so a 2,200 square foot roof may run about $13,200 to $39,600 depending on profile.
Can I install Taylor Metal panels myself?
Taylor’s FAQ says some experienced DIYers may be able to install its products but recommends professional installation for the best results. Its warranties exclude damage from improper installation or failure to follow Taylor instructions, and the 20-year weathertightness warranty is issued jointly with a roofing contractor, so a DIY roof gives up that option.
