By The Roofing Brief Team | Last reviewed: October 2026
CompanyCam is a job site photo documentation app that costs $79 a month for its Core plan and $299 a month for its Scale plan on monthly billing, per the CompanyCam Plans Explained help article checked October 19, 2026. Every photo is timestamped, GPS-tagged and filed into a project by address, which is why roofers use it for insurance supplements, tear-off records and crew accountability. It is not a full roofing CRM, so most roofing companies with a sales pipeline run it next to AccuLynx, JobNimbus or Roofr.
Our method is document review only: we compiled CompanyCam’s pricing page, its help center, the Apple and Google app listings and competitor price sheets on October 19, 2026. We did not buy a subscription or test the app on a roof. Prices change, and CompanyCam raised the Scale plan on September 17, 2026, so confirm the figure at checkout.
CompanyCam key numbers at a glance
The figures most searchers want are the monthly price, the seat cost and the trial length, all taken from CompanyCam’s own pages on October 19, 2026.

What is CompanyCam used for on a roofing job?
CompanyCam is used to take photos and videos that land in a shared project, stamped with time and GPS location, so the office, the crew and the homeowner see the same record. On a reroof that means proof of the roof’s condition before tear-off, the decking found under the old shingles, the installed flashing and fastener pattern, and the cleanup. The CompanyCam roofing page pitches exactly this: show what the site looked like on arrival and prove you did not damage anything.

The app also turns a set of photos into a PDF photo report with a shareable URL, adds arrows and notes on top of images, and keeps a comment thread on each photo. Since an April 16, 2026 plan overview, CompanyCam has added AI reports, AI checklists, invoices, a price book, proposals and Stripe payments, and its March 2, 2026 press release announced the purchase of Beam Finance Inc., an AI estimating and payments startup.
The core roofing jobs CompanyCam handles, with the plan that includes each one:
- Insurance documentation: GPS and timestamp on every photo, PDF photo reports and before and after pairs on all plans, including Core at $63/mo annual.
- Adjuster and homeowner uploads: Guest Access lets an outside person add photos by link with no app install; Crew and Scale only, per CompanyCam’s 2026 plan grid.
- Crew accountability: checklists, task assignment and up to 5 templates start on Crew ($119/mo annual); unlimited templates need Scale.
- Subcontractor work: Collaborators, Signatures and auto-Translations of team chat are Scale-only features in the October 2026 grid.
- Measurements: LiDAR capture needs Scale plus an iPhone 12 Pro or later, or a LiDAR iPad Pro.
How much does CompanyCam cost per month?
CompanyCam costs $79, $149 or $299 a month on monthly billing for Core, Crew and Scale, and $63, $119 or $249 a month on annual billing, per its help center pricing table checked October 19, 2026. Extra seats are $34 a month, or $29 on annual billing. Enterprise, for 50 or more users, has custom rates quoted by sales.
| Plan | Users included | Monthly billing | Annual billing (per month) | Extra user (monthly / annual) | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Core | 1 (2-user limit) | $79 | $63 | $34 / $29 | pricing page plan card |
| Crew | 3 | $149 | $119 | $34 / $29 | help center |
| Scale (new pricing) | 3 | $299 | $249 | $34 / $29 | help center |
| Scale (signed up before Sept 17, 2026) | 3 | $249 | $199 | $34 / $29 | help center |
| Enterprise | 50+ | Custom | Custom | Custom | pricing page |
| Marketing Suite add-on | Company-wide | $99 | $79 | n/a | pricing page |
Three pricing details trip up buyers. First, the “Compare Plans” header on the same pricing page still showed $63, $129 and $199 on October 19, 2026, which does not match the plan cards ($63, $119, $249 annual) or the help center table, so treat $129 and $199 as stale. Second, several third-party guides dated September 2026 list Scale at $249 monthly and $199 annual, which is the pre-September 17, 2026 rate. Third, the Apple App Store lists a “Scale (3 Users)” in-app purchase at $249.99, so an iPhone sign-up may bill through Apple at a different figure.
Core’s plan card says it includes 1 user with a 2-user limit and charges $29 for each additional user on annual billing. By that card’s own math, a 2-person Core account runs $63 + $29 = $92 a month billed annually, or $79 + $34 = $113 billed monthly. Older Pro, Premium and Elite subscriptions still exist as legacy plans, and CompanyCam’s help center tells those customers to log in to see their terms.
What each CompanyCam plan includes
All three self-serve plans include unlimited photo storage, GPS and timestamp stamping, annotations, PDF reports, daily logs, offline mode and payment processing for US companies. The differences that matter to roofers are video length, checklists, Guest Access, AI credits, LiDAR and Dual Video. The grid below is copied from the CompanyCam Compare Plans grid and the help center feature table as of October 19, 2026.
| Feature | Core | Crew | Scale | Why a roofer cares |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Video clip length | 5 min | 10 min | 10 min | Core caps each clip at 5 minutes, so a narrated roof walk gets split by slope |
| Checklists | No | Yes | Yes | Shot lists for tear-off, decking and flashing stages |
| Templates | No | Up to 5 | Unlimited | Separate templates for retail reroof, insurance reroof, repair, gutters |
| Assigning users and Project Groups | No | Yes | Yes | Route a storm-season job to a specific crew lead |
| Guest Access (outside uploads by link) | No | Yes | Yes | Adjuster or homeowner adds photos without an account |
| Text Scanning and Logo Sticker | No | Yes | Yes | Branded photos for the homeowner file |
| Collaborators, Signatures, Translations | No | No | Yes | Sub crews inside the project; sign-offs; Spanish and English chat |
| LiDAR capture and Dual Video | No | No | Yes | Room and wall measurements; front and back camera in one clip |
| AI credits (shared, monthly) | 10 | 100 | Unlimited | AI reports, AI walkthrough notes, AI checklists |
| Proposals (US and Canada) | No | 5 per month | Unlimited | Photo-backed proposals without a separate CRM |
| Invoices, Price Book, Payments | Yes | Yes | Yes | Collect a deposit on site |
CompanyCam’s own pages disagree on Core’s AI allowance. The pricing grid and the help center table list 10 credits a month on Core, a note in the same help article says 20, and the pricing FAQ says AI features come with Crew, Scale and Enterprise. If AI walkthrough reports are the reason you are buying, start on Crew’s 100 shared monthly credits at $119/mo annual or confirm Core’s allowance in writing.
CompanyCam cost by crew size: seat math
CompanyCam’s seat cost is the plan base plus $34 per user above the included seats on monthly billing, or $29 on annual billing. Crew and Scale include 3 users, so a 10-person roofing company pays for 7 extra seats. The table applies the October 19, 2026 help center rates; it is Roofing Brief arithmetic, not a CompanyCam quote.
| Team size | Crew, monthly billing | Crew, annual billing | Scale, monthly billing | Scale, annual billing | Crew annual cost per user |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3 users | $149 | $119 ($1,428/yr) | $299 | $249 ($2,988/yr) | $39.67 |
| 5 users | $217 | $177 ($2,124/yr) | $367 | $307 ($3,684/yr) | $35.40 |
| 10 users | $387 | $322 ($3,864/yr) | $537 | $452 ($5,424/yr) | $32.20 |
| 20 users | $727 | $612 ($7,344/yr) | $877 | $742 ($8,904/yr) | $30.60 |
Two thresholds fall out of that math. Annual billing saves $30 a month on the Crew base ($149 minus $119) plus $5 per extra seat, which is $480 a year for a 5-user crew. Moving from Crew to Scale at any team size adds $130 a month on annual billing ($249 minus $119), or $1,560 a year, so Scale pays only if your crews need Collaborators, Signatures, LiDAR, Dual Video or unlimited templates.
CompanyCam payment fees and add-ons
CompanyCam Payments runs on Stripe and charges per transaction on top of the subscription, per the Connecting Stripe to CompanyCam help article checked October 19, 2026. Payment processing is limited to the United States and Canada in that article, while the pricing page labels payment processing for US-based companies. Accounts on a trial can set up Stripe but cannot send invoices until they upgrade to a paid plan.
| Payment method | Fee | Fee on a $5,000 roof deposit | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tap to Pay (card on phone) | 2.5% + $0.30 | $125.30 | CompanyCam help center |
| Online link and premium cards | 3% + $0.30 | $150.30 | CompanyCam help center |
| ACH bank transfer | 1%, up to $10 | $10.00 | CompanyCam help center |
| Marketing Suite add-on | $99/mo monthly, $79/mo annual | n/a | pricing page |
| Single sign-on and Corporate Portal | Contact sales | n/a | pricing page |
On a $5,000 deposit, steering the homeowner to ACH instead of a card link saves $140.30 in fees ($150.30 minus $10.00). Tap to Pay is not available on legacy subscriptions, per the same Stripe article, so a contractor on an old Pro or Premium plan needs to move to Core, Crew or Scale to take cards in person.
A reroof photo checklist for CompanyCam, mapped to the 2021 IRC
A CompanyCam checklist is most useful when each shot proves a specific code or claim point. The table maps nine reroof stages to the 2021 International Residential Code section an inspector or adjuster is likely to ask about, from IRC Chapter 9 on ICC Digital Codes. Local amendments and the shingle maker’s instructions can be stricter, so add your jurisdiction’s rules to the template.
| Stage | Shot to capture | What it proves | Code or source |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Arrival | Street view with house number, all four elevations, gutters, windows, landscaping | Pre-existing damage, so a later “your crew did this” dispute has a dated answer | CompanyCam roofing page |
| 2. Storm damage | Each damaged slope, a chalked test area, collateral damage to vents and gutters | Scope for the claim before any permanent repair | Texas Department of Insurance advises photos and no permanent repairs before the adjuster inspects |
| 3. Layer count | Cut edge at the eave showing every existing layer | Whether a recover is allowed; two or more existing layers forces tear-off | IRC R908.3.1.1 |
| 4. Deck exposed | Rotted or delaminated sheathing with a tape measure in frame, before replacement | Square footage for a decking supplement | HomeGuide: decking $2 to $5 per sq ft installed |
| 5. Ice barrier | Membrane at eaves with a tape from the eave edge past the wall line | Ice barrier reaches 24 in inside the exterior wall line where the local code requires one | IRC R905.1.2 |
| 6. Drip edge | Laps and fastener spacing at eaves and rakes | Laps of at least 2 in; fasteners at no more than 12 in on center | IRC R905.2.8.5; our drip edge code guide |
| 7. Nailing | Close-up of one full shingle course with nail heads visible before the next course | At least 4 fasteners per strip shingle, or the maker’s higher count | IRC R905.2.6 |
| 8. Sidewall flashing | Step or continuous flashing at each wall before siding goes back | Sidewall flashing type; step flashing is usually a shingle maker requirement | IRC R905.2.8.3 |
| 9. Completion | Every slope, ridge, each pipe boot and vent, magnet sweep of the yard | Finished scope and cleanup for the homeowner and the warranty file | Shingle maker warranty file |
Stage 5 is where photos earn their keep on ice-dam claims: R905.1.2 measures 24 in inside the exterior wall line, not 24 in from the gutter, so a tape in frame settles the question. Our ice and water shield guide covers product choices, and our roof inspection report template shows how to lay the same shots out for a homeowner.
For insurance work, the NAIC claims guidance tells homeowners to take photos or video and list the damage before cleanup, and the Texas Department of Insurance says not to make permanent repairs before the adjuster sees the damage. A timestamped stage 2 set taken before tarping or tear-off is the record both agencies describe.
CompanyCam integrations with AccuLynx, JobNimbus and other roofing software
CompanyCam connects to the major roofing CRMs, but each integration has its own trigger and its own blind spots. The CompanyCam integrations directory lists AccuLynx, JobNimbus, Roofr, Leap, Jobber, ServiceTitan, QuickBooks Online, EagleView, SRS Roof Hub and LeadScout among others. The App Store listing says 50+ integrations, and the help center plan table says 60+.
| Integration | What creates the CompanyCam project | What syncs | Watch out for | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AccuLynx | A Lead or Job assigned to a rep in AccuLynx | Photos, photo descriptions, videos, files and tags, CompanyCam to AccuLynx | Unassigned leads create nothing; Documents and Checklists need a PDF export to sync | help center |
| JobNimbus | A newly created Contact or Job | Photos and files to the JobNimbus Photos and Files sections; user and sales rep assignments | Users need the same email on both; sync can take up to 5 minutes; contacts created before connecting do not sync | help center |
| Roofr | A CompanyCam project can create a Roofr job | Photos into Roofr proposals; Roofr reports and signed proposals back to CompanyCam | Confirm both accounts are on plans that allow the connection | integrations directory |
| Leap | Linked from the Leap job | CompanyCam photos into proposals, contracts and customer messages | Sync is started from the Leap job record | integrations directory |
| Jobber | A job created in Jobber | Photos to the Jobber job attachments, linkable to invoices | Photos attach to Jobber invoices, per the CompanyCam directory | integrations directory |
| QuickBooks Online | A QuickBooks Online customer or invoice | New CompanyCam projects from QBO records | Creates projects; it does not push photos into QuickBooks | integrations directory |
The JobNimbus help article adds one more failure point: if a crew member starts a project by hand at the same address, photos land in that duplicate instead of the linked project labeled JobNimbus Job. Search the address in the project feed and merge duplicates. Our AccuLynx vs JobNimbus comparison covers how each CRM handles photos natively.
CompanyCam app download, login and device requirements
The CompanyCam app is free to download on iOS and Android and runs on the web, and every user signs in with their own seat. The Apple App Store listing showed 4.8 out of 5 from 31K ratings on October 19, 2026, and the Google Play listing showed 1M+ downloads with an update dated October 14, 2026.
| Requirement | Detail | Source |
|---|---|---|
| iPhone and iPad | iOS or iPadOS 16.0 or later; 287.6 MB download | App Store |
| Android | Google Play, 1M+ downloads; Dual Video not available | Google Play, help center |
| Dual Video | iPhones with the Apple A12 chip or newer; Scale plan | Using Dual Video |
| LiDAR capture | iPhone 12 Pro and later, iPhone 12 Pro Max and later, iPad Pro 13-inch and 11-inch (M4), iPad Pro 12.9-inch 4th gen and later, iPad Pro 11-inch 2nd gen and later; Scale plan | pricing FAQ |
| Offline capture | All plans; photos sync when signal returns | pricing FAQ |
| Login methods | Google, Apple, email and password, biometric (Face ID or fingerprint), SSO on Enterprise or as an add-on | Signing In to CompanyCam |
The CompanyCam login with email works the same on phone and web: enter the email and password tied to the account and select Sign In. Per the Signing In help article, the method must match the one used at sign-up, and an account created with Google or Apple already has a hidden generated password, so Forgot password lets that user switch to email login.
Is CompanyCam worth it? Break-even math for a roofing company
CompanyCam is worth it for a roofing company when the subscription costs less than the disputes and office hours its photos save. The worked example below converts the October 2026 prices into roofer labor hours using the BLS median roofer wage of $26.65 an hour (May 2025) and into decking supplements using HomeGuide‘s $2 to $5 per sq ft installed. These are Roofing Brief estimates with the arithmetic shown, not measured savings.
| Scenario | Annual cost | Equals roofer hours at $26.65 | Decking supplements to break even (320 sq ft at $640 to $1,600) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solo roofer, Core, annual billing | $756 ($63 x 12) | 28.4 hours, about 0.55 hr a week | 0.5 to 1.2 |
| 5-user crew, Crew, annual billing | $2,124 (($119 + 2 x $29) x 12) | 79.7 hours, about 1.5 hr a week | 1.3 to 3.3 |
| 10-user company, Crew, annual billing | $3,864 | 145.0 hours | 2.4 to 6.0 |
| 10-user company, Scale, annual billing | $5,424 | 203.5 hours | 3.4 to 8.5 |
The supplement column uses 10 sheets of 4 ft by 8 ft decking (320 sq ft), used here as an example patch size. A storm-restoration company that writes even 4 such supplements a year clears a 5-user Crew subscription; a retail-only crew that rarely deals with an adjuster has to justify it on office time, at about 1.5 hours a week for the same 5 users.
Cheaper CompanyCam alternatives and competitors
The cheapest CompanyCam alternatives are SiteCam, Timemark and Fieldwire, and a roofing CRM’s own photo module costs nothing extra if you already pay for one. All prices below come from each vendor’s pricing page on October 19, 2026; none of these tools matches CompanyCam’s integration list for roofing CRMs, so check the connection to your CRM first.
| Tool | Free tier | Paid entry price | 5-user monthly cost | Limit that matters | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| CompanyCam Crew | None (14-day trial) | $149/mo for 3 users | $217 monthly billing, $177 annual | Checklists and Guest Access start here | help center |
| SiteCam | $0: 3 projects, 500 photos, 25 reports, 1-min videos | $29/user/mo, or $26 annual ($312/yr) | $145 monthly, $130 annual | Free tier caps at 3 projects | SiteCam pricing |
| Timemark | Free: 100 team photos, 3 projects | Plus $5/user/mo; Business $7/user/mo | $35 on Business | Business caps at 300,000 team photos | Timemark pricing |
| Fieldwire by Hilti | Basic $0: up to 5 users, 3 projects, 100 sheets | Pro $39/user/mo billed annually | $195 on Pro, annual | Built around plan sheets and punch lists | Fieldwire pricing |
| AccuLynx or JobNimbus photos | Included in the CRM | CRM pricing is quoted | Included | Check for annotations, PDF photo reports and guest uploads before dropping a photo app | our CRM software showdown |
A r/ConstructionTech thread that ranks on page 1 for “companycam” opens with a poster calling it “expensive for what it is,” and the price gap in the table explains that reaction: 5 users on SiteCam Pro annual cost $130 a month against $177 for CompanyCam Crew. What the cheaper tools lack is the roofing CRM sync described above, so the comparison only favors them if photos do not need to land in AccuLynx or JobNimbus automatically. Our best roofing CRM rankings list which CRMs have native photo tools.
Which CompanyCam plan or alternative should you pick?
Match the plan to the feature that triggers the upgrade, not to team size alone. Each row names the threshold and the October 2026 price that follows from it.
| If your situation is | Pick | Why, with the number |
|---|---|---|
| Owner-operator, 1 user, insurance or warranty work | CompanyCam Core, annual | $63/mo; GPS photos and PDF reports are on every plan |
| 2 users, no need for checklists or Guest Access | CompanyCam Core with 1 extra user | $92/mo annual vs $119 for Crew; Core caps at 2 users |
| 3 to 10 users, adjusters or homeowners must upload photos | CompanyCam Crew | Guest Access, checklists and up to 5 templates start on Crew; $177/mo annual at 5 users |
| Sub crews, signed sign-offs, bilingual crews, LiDAR | CompanyCam Scale | Collaborators, Signatures, Translations and LiDAR are Scale-only; $130/mo more than Crew on annual billing |
| 50 or more users or SSO required | CompanyCam Enterprise | Custom pricing; SSO is otherwise an add-on through sales |
| Photos only need to sit in the CRM job file | Your CRM’s photo module first | No added subscription; test it for 1 storm season before adding CompanyCam |
| Fewer than 3 active projects at a time, tight budget | SiteCam Free or Timemark Plus | SiteCam Free: 3 projects, 500 photos; Timemark Plus: $5/user/mo |
CompanyCam reviews and company record
CompanyCam’s public record is strong on app-store ratings and thin on independent complaint data. The figures below are attributed to the source that published each one on or before October 19, 2026; the user counts are the company’s own claims and do not agree with each other.
| Item | What the record shows | Source |
|---|---|---|
| App Store rating | 4.8 out of 5 from 31K ratings | Apple App Store |
| Google Play | 1M+ downloads; developer address 300 Canopy St, Lincoln, NE | Google Play |
| Origin and CEO | Built by the Hansen family roofing business; CEO Luke Hansen | CompanyCam About page |
| User claims | 140k+ contractors and 1 billion+ photos (About page); 285,000+ pros (Instagram bio); tens of thousands of businesses (March 2026 release) | About page, press page |
| Funding | $30M Series B (Oct 26, 2021); Series C led by B Capital (Aug 22, 2025) | CompanyCam press page |
| Acquisition | Beam Finance Inc. (AI estimating, payments, invoicing), announced March 2, 2026 | CompanyCam press page |
| Security | SOC 2 Type II, per CompanyCam’s April 16, 2026 plan overview | CompanyCam blog |
Price per seat is the complaint quoted in the r/ConstructionTech thread that ranks for the brand name, and the seat math above puts a number on it: a 20-user company on Crew pays $727 a month on monthly billing, or $612 on annual billing. We did not search court or regulator records for this review.
How to set up CompanyCam for a roofing crew
A roofing crew can be running on CompanyCam in one afternoon if the CRM link and the checklist are built before the first job. The steps below follow CompanyCam’s help center articles as of October 2026.

- Start the 14-day trial on the web app and add a payment method on day 1; Guest Access invites fail with a “Not authorized” error during a trial with no card on file.
- Connect the CRM before creating any projects. In AccuLynx, go to Market, then App Connections, then CompanyCam, then Get Connected. In JobNimbus, create an Application Key with Read and Write permission.
- Match every user’s email in CompanyCam and the CRM; JobNimbus assignments and photos do not sync when the emails differ.
- Build the 9-stage reroof checklist from the IRC table above as a template; Crew allows 5 templates, so save reroof, insurance reroof, repair, gutter and inspection.
- Create 6 tags such as arrival, storm damage, layers, decking, flashing and completion, so a supplement packet filters in one search.
- Set video defaults: Core clips stop at 5 minutes, Crew and Scale at 10 minutes, so split long roof walks by slope.
- Turn on biometric login under User Icon, Settings, Login Security so crews on ladders are not typing passwords.
- Before any cancellation, export project photos; access ends at the end of the paid billing period or annual term.
Pair the setup with a measurement tool; our best roof measuring app rankings compare 3 report providers, EagleView, Hover and Roofr, all of which appear in CompanyCam’s integration directory.
Frequently asked questions
What is CompanyCam used for?
CompanyCam is used to capture job site photos and videos that are automatically timestamped, GPS-tagged and filed into a project by address. Roofers use it to document pre-existing damage, decking found at tear-off, flashing and nail patterns, and the finished roof, then share PDF photo reports with homeowners, adjusters or the office. Every plan from Core at $63 a month billed annually includes invoices, a price book and Tap to Pay in the US.
How much does CompanyCam cost per month?
As of October 19, 2026, CompanyCam lists Core at $79 a month (1 user, 2-user limit), Crew at $149 (3 users) and Scale at $299 (3 users) on monthly billing. Annual billing drops those to $63, $119 and $249 a month. Each extra user costs $34 a month, or $29 on annual billing. Enterprise pricing for 50 or more users is quoted by sales.
What is a cheaper alternative to CompanyCam?
SiteCam has a free plan capped at 3 projects, 500 photos and 25 reports, and its Pro plan is $29 per user per month. Timemark Business is $7 per user per month for 300,000 team photos. Fieldwire Basic is free for up to 5 users and 3 projects. A roofing CRM such as AccuLynx or JobNimbus also stores job photos inside the subscription you already pay for.
Is CompanyCam worth it?
For a 5-person roofing crew, Crew on annual billing costs $2,124 a year. One disputed decking supplement of 320 sq ft at HomeGuide’s $2 to $5 per sq ft is worth $640 to $1,600, so the subscription pays back after roughly 1.3 to 3.3 such disputes a year. Crews doing little insurance work may get enough from a CRM’s built-in photo module.
Is there a free version of CompanyCam?
CompanyCam does not list a free plan in October 2026. It offers a 14-day free trial, and its sign-up pages say no credit card is required. Guests you invite to a project, such as a homeowner or adjuster, can upload photos at no cost through a link, but Guest Access needs a payment method on file during a trial and is a Crew or Scale feature.
How do I log in to CompanyCam with email?
Open the CompanyCam app or the web login page, enter the email address and password tied to your account, and select Sign In. CompanyCam’s help center says the sign-in method must match the one used to create the account. If you signed up with Google or Apple, use Forgot password on the login page to set an email password and then use either method.
Does CompanyCam track hours?
CompanyCam’s October 2026 plan comparison lists photos, daily logs, checklists, tasks, invoices and payments, but no time clock or timesheet feature. Daily Logs record crew, weather and work completed for each day on a project, which is not the same as payroll hours. Roofing companies that need clock-in and clock-out records usually run them in a CRM or a separate time-tracking app.
What happens to my photos if I cancel CompanyCam?
CompanyCam’s pricing FAQ says you keep access through the end of the billing period you paid for, and on an annual plan through the end of the annual term. Photos stay in the account while you are a customer, and CompanyCam tells departing customers to export their photos before access ends. Export before the renewal date if the photos support open claims or warranties.
