Spectra Gutter Systems is a family-owned Atlanta manufacturer and wholesale distributor of aluminum gutter coil, gutter guards and rainware, legally Spectra Metal Sales, Inc., with 38 branches in 18 states and a retail line sold as Spectra Pro Select. Its contractor coil comes in .027 in. and .032 in. 3105-H24 aluminum in 25 TrueCoat paint colors, and its standard painted gutter coil carries a 20-year prorated, non-transferable finish warranty that the installing dealer must register within 30 days.
Spectra Gutter Systems makes and sells materials; it does not install gutters on homes. Its Chop & Drop service page states “Installation remains your opportunity,” so a local installer that shares the Spectra name or advertises “Spectra gutters” is a separate company buying Spectra coil. The figures below come from Spectra’s 92-page product catalog PDF (file dated October 13, 2026), its spec sheet library, warranty certificates and retailer listings checked in October 2026. We compiled documents; we did not test products.
Spectra Gutter Systems at a glance
These are the facts most people searching the Spectra name want first: who the company is, where it ships from, what metal it sells and what the paint warranty pays, drawn from 5 Spectra documents. Each row cites the Spectra document or public record it comes from, so you can check the current version before you buy.

Who owns Spectra Gutter Systems, and is it the same as Spectra Metal Sales?
Spectra Gutter Systems is the trade name of Spectra Metal Sales, Inc., a Florida corporation based in Atlanta, and the company describes itself as family-owned and veteran-owned. Its homepage signs a values statement from “The Snell Family,” and its Fluropon Coastal warranty form prints Todd Snell’s name on the signature line. We found no press release announcing a sale of the company as of October 2026.
The Spectra name appears on five storefronts that all route back to the same Atlanta business. The table maps each name to what it sells, which answers most “is this the same company” questions. Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation, the metal roofing maker that Cornerstone Building Brands acquired, is a different company with no Spectra connection in that release.

Spectra runs its own delivery fleet for branch and jobsite drops. The FMCSA SAFER snapshot for USDOT 320300 lists Spectra Metal Sales Inc at the Boat Rock Blvd address with 55 power units and 69 drivers, which is the public record behind the “local delivery” claims on its branch pages.
Where are Spectra Gutter Systems locations?
Spectra lists 38 branches across 18 states, concentrated in the Southeast and Texas, with Florida at 7 branches and Texas at 5. Ocala and Fort Pierce, Florida, are flagged as new on the homepage. Branches sell to contractors at wholesale and can point homeowners to an installer or a retailer carrying Spectra Pro Select.

Two branch addresses searchers ask about: Spectra Gutter Systems Clearwater is at 5050 140th Ave North, Clearwater, FL 33760, (727) 530-5435, and the Dallas, TX branch is at 2007 Royal Ln. Ste 160, Dallas, TX 75229, (972) 556-2564, per the Spectra locations page in October 2026.
Spectra gutter coil: gauges, widths and part codes
Spectra gutter coil is 3105-H24 or H25 aluminum to ASTM B209, finished in .027 in. or .032 in. with a +/- .002 in. tolerance, and sold by the pound in 350 to 400 lb boxes. Its .032 x 15 certification letter adds a thermo polyester paint at .65 +/- .05 mil top-coat dry film, 1,000-hour ASTM B117 salt spray and 1,000-hour ASTM D2247 humidity results.

Because Spectra prices coil by the pound, the useful number is feet per box. The table below is Roofing Brief arithmetic: width x thickness x 12 in. x 0.098 lb per cubic inch (3105 aluminum density), then 350 and 400 lb divided by that weight. Paint adds a little weight, so real yields run slightly lower; our gutter coil guide checks the same math against published supplier yields.
| Spectra coil | lb per ft (calc.) | Feet per 350 lb box | Feet per 400 lb box |
|---|---|---|---|
| .027 x 11.75 in. (5 in.) | 0.373 | 938 | 1,072 |
| .032 x 11.75 in. (5 in.) | 0.442 | 792 | 905 |
| .027 x 15 in. (6 in.) | 0.476 | 735 | 840 |
| .032 x 15 in. (6 in.) | 0.564 | 620 | 709 |
| .032 x 17.875 in. (7 in.) | 0.673 | 520 | 595 |
| .032 x 20 in. (8 in.) | 0.753 | 465 | 531 |
Moving from .027 to .032 adds about 18.5 percent more aluminum per foot (.032 divided by .027), which is what buys extra dent and sag resistance. Spectra’s own gutter installation standard accepts either gauge, so the choice rests on snow load, ladder traffic and hanger spacing rather than on a code minimum.
Spectra gutter colors: why you see 23, 25, 30 and 50
Spectra’s catalog color page shows 25 TrueCoat paint colors plus unpainted 16 oz copper and Galvalume, but its own web pages quote four different totals. The gap matters if a contractor promises a color: the standard warranty and stock availability apply to colors on the current color card, and custom colors follow separate terms.
| Spectra document | Color claim | What it counts |
|---|---|---|
| Catalog PDF, p. 4 (Oct 2026 file) | 25 named TrueCoat colors | Almond, Antique Ivory, Beaver Brown, Black, Bronze, Clay, Cocoa Brown, Colonial Gray, Cream, Deerskin, Designer Copper, Dove Gray, Eggshell, Forest Green, Linen, Musket Brown, Pearl Gray, Royal Brown, Scotch Red, Terratone, Traditional Blue, Tuxedo Gray, Wicker, White 30, White 80 |
| Homepage swatch grid and Color Studio | 24 swatches | The catalog list without Designer Copper |
| Catalog web page description | “23+ colors” | Not itemized |
| About page | “30+ colors” | Not itemized |
| Homepage and Chop & Drop page | “50+ premium colors” | Tied to Spectra’s status as an authorized Sherwin-Williams coil coating applicator; likely includes non-stock colors |
The two whites differ by gloss: White 30 is the low-gloss white (code 3W) and White 80 the high-gloss white (code 8W), per the catalog. For pairing Spectra colors with siding and trim, our gutter colors chart compares makers side by side.
Spectra Pro Select retail gutters vs contractor seamless coil
The biggest difference inside the Spectra brand is metal thickness. Spectra Pro Select’s retail gutter page lists 6 in. x 10 ft sections at .019 in. and 5 in. x 16 ft sections at .024 in., while contractor seamless coil starts at .027 in. Spectra’s own downpipe spec uses .019 in. aluminum, so the thinnest retail gutter matches downspout stock.
| Spectra product | Thickness | Length | Price seen, October 2026 | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pro Select 5 in. x 10 ft aluminum gutter | .019 in. | 10 ft section | Check local listing | Spectra Pro Select gutter page |
| Pro Select 6 in. x 10 ft aluminum gutter | .019 in. | 10 ft section | Check local listing | Spectra Pro Select gutter page |
| Pro Select 5 in. x 16 ft aluminum gutter | .024 in. | 16 ft section | Check local listing | Spectra Pro Select gutter page |
| Spectra Metals 5 in. x 10 ft K-style white, 5KHD10RTW | .027 in. | 10 ft section | $52.89 each ($5.29 per ft) | Zoro listing |
| Contractor seamless coil, 5 in. or 6 in. | .027 or .032 in. | Formed to any length on site | Sold by the pound through branches | Spectra catalog p. 8 |
Shoppers notice the split: a Reddit thread asks why Spectra sections at Home Depot (model 5KMB8) and Menards (5K10RTB) look different. Retail part codes help: Zoro lists 5K10RTW as .019 in. and 5KHD10RTW as .027 in., so a “KHD” code marks the heavier section. Read the thickness on the label, because .019 in. is the same stock Spectra uses for downspouts.
Are Spectra gutter guards good? Every line compared
Spectra gutter guards are screen, perforated-cover and solid-cover designs in aluminum or powder-coated steel; none of Spectra’s own lines is a fine stainless micro-mesh. The catalog lists rainfall rates of 0.30 to 0.35 in. per hour without naming a test method, so ask the branch how those were measured before relying on them on a steep roof.
| Contractor line (part code) | Retail name | Material | Section and box | Stated rainfall rate | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| LS-Screen (GS501LC, GS502LC) | Armour Screen / Universal Aluminum Screen (“Good”) | Expanded aluminum, mill finish, C-Lock clip | 4 ft; 50 per box (200 ft) | 0.35 in./hr | Catalog p. 62 |
| LS-Lock (GS441FM, GS442FM) | Armour Lock (“Better”) | Powder-coated steel, black, roll lock | 4 ft; 25 per box (100 ft) | 0.30 in./hr | Catalog p. 63 |
| LS-Guard (5EGBK, 5EGW, 6EGBK, 6EGW) | EcoGuard (“Pro”) | .019 in. perforated aluminum, 10 diamond holes per sq in., triple ridge, screw-on | 6 ft; 50 per box (300 ft) | 0.30 in./hr | Catalog p. 64; EcoGuard letter |
| Drop-In Screen | Not sold under this name at retail | .027 in. expanded aluminum, double hem, C-lock | 4 ft; 50 per box | Not stated | Drop-In letter |
| Spectra Shield (solid cover) | No confirmed retail twin; Pro Select’s “Best” line is Armour Shield Simple Stick, 5 in. only | Solid cover, 1/2 in. front-lip screws | Install sheet only | Not stated | Spectra Shield instructions |
The retail and contractor names share base part codes: Lowe’s sells Armour Lock as GS442FM3RTW, and Home Depot sells EcoGuard as 5EGRTBK25, both built on the GS442FM and 5EG codes in the contractor catalog. Spectra branches also stock partner guards, including stainless LeafBlaster Pro, DoublePro microfiltration and GutterLock Elite, per catalog pages 60 and 61.
Spectra’s Shield instructions set three hard limits: install on K-style or ogee gutters only, not on steel or ceramic tile roofs, and not on roof pitches above 12:12. Consumer Reports’ August 2010 gutter guard release found that fine-mesh screens outperformed screens with larger holes, which is the trade-off to weigh against Spectra’s 10-holes-per-square-inch EcoGuard. For pine needles and shingle grit, compare a stainless micro-mesh in our micro-mesh vs reverse-curve guide.
Spectra gutter guard prices at Home Depot and Lowe’s
Spectra Pro Select guards were listed from 35 cents to $1.76 per foot at Home Depot and Lowe’s in October 2026, far below the $15 to $45 per linear foot that HomeGuide’s gutter guard cost guide gives for professional installation. Prices change and differ by store, so confirm the live listing.
| Product (model) | Retailer | Listed price | Per foot | Packs for 160 ft | Cost for 160 ft |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 6 in. x 20 ft aluminum screen roll (6EXPROLL) | Home Depot | $6.98 | $0.35 | 8 rolls | $55.84 |
| Armour Shield 5 in. x 4 ft, single piece | Home Depot | $5.98 | $1.50 | 40 pieces | $239.20 |
| EcoGuard 5 in. x 6 ft, 25-pack, 150 ft (5EGRTBK25) | Home Depot | $236.64 | $1.58 | 2 cases (300 ft) | $473.28 |
| Armour Lock 6 in. x 3 ft, 10-pack, 30 ft (GS442FM3RTW10) | Lowe’s | $49.98 | $1.67 | 6 packs (180 ft) | $299.88 |
| Armour Lock 6 in. x 3 ft, single (GS442FM3RTW) | Lowe’s | $5.29 | $1.76 | 54 pieces | $285.66 |
| Professional install, any brand | HomeGuide range | $15 to $45 per LF | $15 to $45 | n/a | $2,400 to $7,200 |
The 160 ft example is a Roofing Brief worked figure: Consumer Reports used roughly 160 feet as the gutter length of an average-sized home in its 2010 guard tests. Pack math rounds up to whole packs, which is why two EcoGuard cases leave 140 ft spare on a 160 ft house; add stainless or zinc-coated screws for EcoGuard, since Spectra’s catalog notes “screws not included.”
Spectra hangers, downpipe and accessories
Spectra’s installation standard spaces hangers at a maximum of 24 to 36 in., sets gutter pitch at a minimum of 1/4 in. per 10 ft, and places downspouts every 40 ft. Its 6 in. speed screw hanger letter is stricter and recommends one hanger every 24 in., using .048 in. aluminum with a #10 hardened screw.
| Hanger (code) | Metal | Fastener | Box | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 in. Ultra Hidden Hanger (5HTH, 5HTHWC) | .063 in. aluminum | Zinc-coated #10 x 1.5 in. screw, sold separately | 1,000 | Catalog p. 46 |
| 5 in. Steel Hidden Hanger (5SHTHWC) | Steel, for steel gutters | #10 x 1.5 in. screw, sold separately; T-bar strap code TS | 1,000 | Catalog p. 47 |
| Hidden Hanger with clip (5HNC, 6HNC) | Aluminum | Keyholes for T-bar strap | 500 | Catalog p. 48 |
| Elite Speed Screw Hanger (5HFEH, 6HFEH, 7HFEH) | .048 in. aluminum, double gusset | Zinc-coated #12 screw with auger tip, attached | 500 / 250 / 100 | Catalog p. 51 |
| Half-round hangers (6HRHHAL, 8HRHHAL), shanks 11, 12, 30 | Aluminum | Clip or shank to fascia | Varies | Catalog pp. 52 to 55 |
Spectra’s 2 x 3 and 3 x 4 in. corrugated downpipe is .019 in. aluminum in 8 or 10 ft lengths, 10 per box, with a double lock seam; the 4 x 5 in. size steps up to .027 in. for barrel tile roofs and high runoff. The catalog sizing rule is one 2 x 3 in. downpipe per 600 sq ft of roof area or one 3 x 4 in. per 1,200 sq ft.
| Worked example: 2,400 sq ft roof, 160 ft of 6 in. gutter | Spectra rule | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Downpipes if 2 x 3 in. | 1 per 600 sq ft roof area | 2,400 / 600 = 4 |
| Downpipes if 3 x 4 in. | 1 per 1,200 sq ft roof area | 2,400 / 1,200 = 2 minimum; the 40 ft spacing rule can raise this |
| Hangers at 24 in. on center | 6SSH letter: 1 per 24 in. | 160 x 12 / 24 = 80 hangers |
| Hangers at 36 in. on center | Installation standard maximum | 160 x 12 / 36 = about 54 hangers |
| Coil, .032 x 15 in. | 0.564 lb per ft (calc.) | 90 lb, or about 99 lb with 10 percent for miters and test pieces |
Spectra gutter warranty: what the 20-year finish warranty pays
Spectra’s standard warranty for painted aluminum gutter coil is a 20-year limited, prorated, non-transferable finish warranty against cracking, peeling, blistering, chipping and flaking. It excludes chalking and fading, covers material only, and is not effective unless the installing dealer signs it at installation, the homeowner countersigns, and the original reaches Spectra in Atlanta within 30 days.
That certificate, viewable as a dealer-hosted copy of the Spectra Metal Sales 20-year warranty (undated, so ask your installer for the current form), also excludes hail, ice, windstorms and faulty installation. Claims must be made in writing within 30 days of the defect appearing, and the payout follows a fixed schedule based on the original material cost.
| Year of claim | Share of material cost paid | Example payout on $420 of coil |
|---|---|---|
| Year 1 | 100% | $420 |
| Year 2 | 90% | $378 |
| Year 3 | 80% | $336 |
| Year 4 | 65% | $273 |
| Year 5 | 50% | $210 |
| Years 6 to 10 | 25% | $105 |
| Years 11 to 16 | 20% | $84 |
| Year 17 / 18 / 19 / 20 | 16% / 12% / 8% / 4% | $67 / $50 / $34 / $17 |
| After year 20 | 0% | $0 |
The $420 base is a Roofing Brief estimate: about 99 lb of .032 x 15 in. coil for the 160 ft example at $4.14 to $4.34 per lb, the October 2026 full-coil listings compiled in our gutter coil guide from other suppliers. Spectra does not publish branch coil prices, so its figure may differ. Labor to remove and rehang gutters is not in the payout, so a year-8 peel claim returns about $105 against a re-gutter job that HomeGuide’s gutter installation guide prices at $12 to $25 per linear foot installed.
Spectra’s PVDF warranties are a separate, longer tier. Its PVDF Fluropon warranty runs 35 years on cracking and peeling and 30 years on chalk (ASTM D4214 rating 8) and fade (5 Hunter delta-E, ASTM D2244), excludes sea-spray damage within 1,500 ft of breaking surf, 800 ft of bay shoreline or 400 ft of brackish water, and is non-transferable. The Fluropon Coastal warranty runs 25 years, is written for commercial and industrial building parts, and requires a fresh-water rinse twice a year under AAMA 610.1.
How to install Spectra Pro Select gutter guards
Spectra Pro Select’s snap-in screens install in two motions: slide the flat back edge under the first shingle course or into the back of the gutter, then push the front edge in and down until the C-lock grips the gutter lip, per Spectra Pro Select’s two-step install post. Screw-on covers such as EcoGuard add front-lip screws.

- Clean and check the gutter. Spectra’s Shield instructions list 8 pre-install conditions, including all debris removed from gutters and downpipes, existing strainers or guards removed, and every hanger secure before any cover goes on.
- Confirm pitch and fit. Re-pitch any run below Spectra’s 1/4 in. per 10 ft minimum, and confirm the guard width matches a 5 in. or 6 in. K-style gutter; Shield covers fit K-style or ogee only.
- Start at the low end. Begin at the outlet end of each run and work toward the high end, so each 1/2 in. overlap sheds water downhill.
- Set the angle. For solid Spectra Shield covers, hold a 15 to 20 degree downward slope from the back edge to the front lip; Spectra says a backward slant can push water toward the fascia.
- Overlap and fasten. Overlap Shield pieces 1/2 in., notching 1/2 in. off the front lip, then drive 1/2 in. screws at both ends and the middle of each piece and at each overlap. Snap-in Armour Screen and Armour Lock need no screws.
- Close the ends and corners. Fold extra cover down into the gutter at each end to block birds and squirrels, hand-cut outside miters, and patch the V-shaped gap at inside miters with aluminum screen painted to match, per step 4 of the Shield sheet.
Spectra contractor services: Chop & Drop, machines and commercial gutter
Spectra sells services as well as metal. Chop & Drop forms 7 in. and 8 in. K-style, 6 in. and 8 in. half-round and 7 in. and 8 in. box gutter at the jobsite in .027 or .032 in. aluminum, with no contract and no minimum order, and Spectra leaves installation to the contractor.
| Service or product | Key specs | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Chop & Drop mobile forming | 7/8 in. K-style, 6/8 in. half-round, 7/8 in. box; .027 or .032 in.; no minimum | Chop & Drop page |
| Cut-to-length | Up to 20 ft sections shipped to the local branch | Catalog p. 90 |
| Commercial gutters | .032 and .040 in. aluminum, 24 and 26 ga steel; Kynar, Poly, Galvalume; profiles A, B, D, F, I | Catalog p. 88 |
| Commercial downpipe | Smooth 3 x 4 to 6 x 6 in., EZ Round 4 and 5 in. | Catalog p. 89 |
| Gutter machines | New Tech Machinery MACH II and BG7; Spartan two-speed machines | Catalog p. 91 |
| Below-deck drainage | Haven panels in 12 and 16 ft lengths, .027 and .032 in. aluminum | Catalog pp. 86 to 87 |
Machine buyers should note that Spectra resells New Tech Machinery equipment and its own Spartan line rather than building the MACH II. New Tech Machinery lists .019 to .032 in. painted aluminum for the MACH II, as compiled in our gutter machine guide.
Spectra vs Englert, Kaycan and Amerimax
Spectra, Englert and Kaycan all sell painted aluminum coil to installers, while Amerimax sells mainly cut sections and guards through home centers. On the paperwork that matters, Spectra’s 20-year prorated, non-transferable finish warranty matches Englert’s term, and Kaycan’s 2025 aluminum warranty runs 25 years, also prorated.
| Brand | Parent (verified) | Main channel | Standard gutter finish warranty | Coil colors | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Spectra Gutter Systems | Spectra Metal Sales, Inc., family-owned | 38 company branches plus Pro Select retail | 20 yr limited, prorated, non-transferable | 25 (catalog) | Spectra catalog and warranty |
| Englert | Great Day Improvements since June 17, 2024 | Gutter coil and gutter roll-forming machines | 20 yr limited, prorated, non-transferable | 16 | GDI release, Englert documents |
| Kaycan | Not verified for this review | Vinyl and aluminum siding, trim and rainware | 25 yr limited, prorated | See Kaycan chart | Kaycan 2025 warranty |
| Amerimax | OmniMax brand; Gibraltar Industries since Feb 2, 2026 | Home centers, DIY sections and guards | Guards: 10 to 20 yr by line, per our Amerimax review | White, brown, black sections | Gibraltar closing release |
For the retail comparison guard by guard, our Amerimax gutters review lists Hoover Dam, Titan 3000 and Lock-In specs, and our seamless gutter systems guide covers how installers price and form coil from any of these four brands.
What Spectra Gutter Systems reviews actually measure
Most results for “Spectra gutter systems reviews” are employee reviews, not product reviews. Indeed’s Spectra Gutter Systems page showed an overall 2.7 of 5 from 25 employee reviews in October 2026, with reported pay of $18.27 per hour for associates, $20.73 for truck drivers and $22.61 for route drivers. Those figures describe the workplace, not coil or guard performance.
Product feedback sits on retailer listings for specific SKUs, such as GS442FM3RTW at Lowe’s and 5EGRTBK25 at Home Depot, so read reviews for the exact part code you plan to buy. For the company itself, BBB’s profile for Spectra Metals at 955 Lagrange Blvd SW, Atlanta, states it is not BBB accredited; we did not find a complaint total we could verify. Spectra Gutter Systems careers are posted through its careers page, which routes to a Paylocity job board.
Which Spectra product should you pick?
Match the Spectra product to who is installing and how much the gutter must carry; the table covers 9 common situations. The thresholds below come from the Spectra documents cited above and our worked examples; if two rows apply, the stricter one wins.
| If your situation is | Pick | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Hiring an installer for new gutters on a 1-story house | Seamless .027 in. coil, 5 in. or 6 in. | Lowest Spectra coil weight per foot (0.373 lb for 5 in.); same 20-year finish warranty |
| Snow country, 2+ stories, or ladder-heavy maintenance | Seamless .032 in. coil, 6 in., hangers at 24 in. | 18.5 percent more metal; Spectra hanger letter calls for 1 per 24 in. |
| Roof area over 1,200 sq ft per downspout, or tile roof | 3 x 4 or 4 x 5 in. downpipe | Spectra sizing: 1,200 sq ft per 3 x 4 in.; 4 x 5 in. listed for barrel tile |
| DIY repair of one damaged run | Pro Select .027 in. “KHD” section, not .019 in. | .019 in. matches downspout stock and dents easily |
| Oak and maple leaves, budget under $100 for 160 ft | 6EXPROLL screen roll | $0.35 per ft; 8 rolls cost $55.84 |
| Heavy leaves and wind, want screw-down | EcoGuard (5EG / 6EG) | .019 in. aluminum with triple ridge; front-lip screws |
| Pine needles or shingle grit | A stainless micro-mesh, not a Spectra house line | Spectra lines use 10 holes per sq in. or expanded mesh |
| Steel or tile roof, or pitch over 12:12 | Not Spectra Shield | Excluded by Spectra’s Shield instructions |
| Coastal home within 1,500 ft of surf | Ask about Fluropon Coastal before ordering | Standard PVDF warranty excludes sea-spray damage in that zone; Coastal requires twice-yearly rinsing |
Frequently asked questions
Who owns Spectra Gutter Systems?
Spectra Gutter Systems is the trade name of Spectra Metal Sales, Inc., a Florida corporation headquartered at 6104 Boat Rock Blvd SW in Atlanta. The company calls itself family-owned and veteran-owned, and its homepage statement is signed by the Snell family. We found no announced sale or private-equity owner as of October 2026.
Are Spectra gutter guards good?
Spectra gutter guards are basic to mid-tier designs: expanded aluminum screens, powder-coated steel Armour Lock, and EcoGuard perforated .019 in. aluminum with 10 holes per square inch. They cost $0.35 to $1.76 per foot at retail in October 2026. None is a fine stainless micro-mesh, the type Consumer Reports found filtered better in 2010.
What is the best brand of gutters?
There is no single best brand; compare the specs that differ. Spectra, Englert and Kaycan all sell 3105 aluminum coil in .027 and .032 in.; Spectra and Englert offer 20-year prorated finish warranties and Kaycan 25 years. The installer’s hanger spacing (24 in. on center in snow areas) and gauge choice matter more than the coil brand.
What is the average cost of a gutter system?
HomeGuide puts gutter installation at $12 to $25 per linear foot including labor and materials, or $2,200 to $5,000 for an average home. Gauge, height and guards move the total: guards add $15 to $45 per foot installed, or $0.35 to $1.76 per foot for Spectra Pro Select guards you install yourself.
Which gutter guard system was rated best by Consumer Reports?
In its 2010 ratings, announced August 3, 2010, Consumer Reports named the fine-mesh LeafFilter the top-scoring screen, with Gutterglove Pro also strong, and picked Amerimax 85198 and 854054 as Best Buys for do-it-yourselfers. Consumer Reports tested guards for 16 months outdoors. No Spectra product appears in that release.
How do you install Spectra Pro Select gutter guards?
Clean the gutter, then slide the guard’s flat back edge under the first shingle course or into the back of the gutter, and push the front edge in and down until the C-lock grips the gutter lip. Start at the downspout end. Screw-on EcoGuard, sold in 6 ft pieces, also needs screws through the front lip, sold separately.
What colors are available for Spectra gutter systems?
Spectra’s catalog lists 25 TrueCoat colors, from Almond and Antique Ivory to Tuxedo Gray, White 30 (low gloss) and White 80 (high gloss), plus 16 oz copper and Galvalume. 7 in. coil comes in only 6 colors. Spectra’s web pages also cite 23+, 30+ and 50+ colors, so confirm stock at your branch.
Can homeowners buy directly from Spectra Gutter Systems?
Spectra’s 38 branches sell mainly to contractors at wholesale, and Spectra does not install gutters. Homeowners buy the Spectra Pro Select retail line at Home Depot, Lowe’s and hardware stores, or ask a branch at 1 (800) 299-5305 to refer an installer who forms Spectra coil on site.
