Best Buy Metals Review (2026): Warranties, Prices, Locations

By The Roofing Brief Team | Last reviewed: October 2026

Best Buy Metals is a metal roofing manufacturer and supplier headquartered in Cleveland, Tennessee, owned by Isaac and Angel Libbey. It sells cut-to-length steel panels, standing seam, metal shingles, siding and post-frame kits through seven branches in Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia, plus a Nationwide division that ships across the US from what the company calls 48 plants. It sells to homeowners and contractors alike.

This review is built from the company’s own two websites, its tech sheets and warranty document, its online store and policies as seen in October 2026, plus public approval records. One finding most buyers miss: the branch site and the national site publish different warranty terms for the same panels, so the document attached to your order matters more than any product page.

Best Buy Metals: key numbers at a glance

These are the figures people usually look up before calling Best Buy Metals. Each row names where it came from. Prices and terms were seen in October 2026 and can change, so confirm them on your written quote.

Who owns Best Buy Metals?

Best Buy Metals is owned by Isaac and Angel Libbey, who lead the company from its headquarters in Cleveland, Tennessee. The company’s leadership page lists Isaac as CEO and Angel as CFO and credits their construction and accounting backgrounds. The firm describes itself as a manufacturer and supplier of metal roofing, siding and building materials since 2002.

The same page names a wider leadership team, including a Director of Operations, a Director of Sales, regional managers for the eastern and western branches, and a general manager for the Nationwide division, which works out of facilities next to the Cleveland headquarters at 1668 S Lee Hwy. The Knoxville branch page states that Metal Roofing Wholesalers and Best Buy Metals merged, and lists Josh Libbey as executive manager there.

Two programs sit alongside the core business. Best Buy Metals offers consumer financing through Synchrony, applied for by branch, and runs a contractor loyalty program called BBM+ Rewards. Neither Best Buy Metals website mentions any connection to Best Buy Co., the electronics retailer.

Where are Best Buy Metals locations?

Best Buy Metals operates seven branches in the Southeast plus a Nationwide desk in Cleveland, Tennessee. The Asheville branch is at 300 Sardis Rd and the Chattanooga branch is at 2300 E 23rd St off I-24. All branch pages list weekday hours only. The table below comes from each branch page, including whether the branch says it rolls panels on site or transfers them from Cleveland.

Source: Best Buy Metals branch pages on bestbuymetalroofing.com, October 2026. Each branch page also lists products available “with a short lead time” rather than from stock, such as Titan-Loc 150 standing seam and decorative shingles, so ask your branch which category your panel falls in.

Best Buy Metals describes itself as a manufacturer and supplier, and its branch pages do not list roof installation as a service. Homeowners in the two cluster markets who need an installer can compare our screened lists of the best roofers in Asheville, NC and the best roofers in Chattanooga, TN.

Why does Best Buy Metals have two websites?

Best Buy Metals runs bestbuymetalroofing.com for its seven branches and bestbuymetals.com for its Nationwide division, which serves “the remainder of the United States not served by our local branches,” per its Nationwide page. Both use the same 800-728-4010 number. The branch site stresses in-house manufacturing; the national site stresses delivery “from 48 plants across the US.”

The split matters because the two sites do not carry identical product lines or terms. The branch site lists Titan-Loc 100, Titan-Loc 150, Snap Seam and Endura Seam standing seam, while the national site lists Image II, Vertical Seam and Snap-Lock 150. The national 5V-Crimp page adds that “some plants also provide unpainted galvanized which carries no warranty.” In practice, where you live decides which plant rolls your panels and which warranty terms apply.

What does Best Buy Metals sell?

Best Buy Metals sells through-fastened steel panels, standing seam, stamped metal shingles, shake, slate and tile profiles, steel siding and soffit, framing steel and American Pole Barns post-frame kits, plus tools and accessories online. Its cheapest roof panel is Tuff-Rib, which the company calls “our most affordable metal roofing system.” The table groups the roofing lines listed on its two sites.

Best Buy Metals panel specs: gauge, coverage and slope

Best Buy Metals offers most exposed-fastener panels in 29 or 26 gauge and most standing seam in 26 or 24 gauge, with painted steel panels over a Galvalume substrate. Minimum slopes run from 1:12 for R-Panel and Vertical Seam to 3:12 for 5V-Crimp and Image II. The table pulls each figure from the product page or tech sheet named.

Sentry Shingle 39 x 12.25 in per shingle 4-way interlock 29 3:12 Solid deck Sentry Shingle page

The Tuff-Rib tech sheet adds detail the product page skips: AZ50 Galvalume under paint and AZ55 on unpainted panels per ASTM A792, 80 ksi steel in 29 and 26 gauge, and UL 2218 Class 4 impact, UL 790 Class A fire and UL 580 Class 90 uplift ratings. It also recommends a 5 ft minimum panel length, while the product page offers lengths from 3 ft.

The same 36 inch, 3/4 inch rib, 9 inch on-center geometry is sold as MasterRib by Cornerstone brands and under other names by other mills; our master rib metal roof guide compares them and covers fastening and laps.

Best Buy Metals sells 5V-Crimp as a lower-cost alternative to standing seam, popular in coastal areas and the Southeast. Our 5V metal roofing guide covers that profile across manufacturers.

What warranty does Best Buy Metals give?

Best Buy Metals advertises painted-panel warranties of 40 or 50 years, depending on which of its websites you read, plus a 30-year fade and chalk warranty. The company says its paint warranties are backed by coating makers Sherwin-Williams, Akzo Nobel and BASF. The specific terms come from the coil coating supplier for your order, which is why the written document matters.

Best Buy Metals did not post a panel warranty document for Tuff-Rib or its standing seam lines; ask for the signed coating warranty for your exact color, gauge and plant before you pay.

What the Sentry warranty document actually says

The only warranty document Best Buy Metals posts is for Sentry metal roofing, issued by Isaiah Industries of Piqua, Ohio. It is non-prorated and lifetime for the original owner, 40 years for later owners and for buildings owned by companies. Coverage includes wind uplift up to 120 mph when installed to the maker’s instructions, plus chalk no worse than an ASTM D4214 rating of 8 and fade no more than 5 Hunter delta-E units for 30 years.

The conditions are where claims succeed or fail. The owner and installing contractor must sign and return the registration within 30 days of installation, new owners must file a transfer form within 30 days of closing, and claims must be made in writing within 30 days of discovering the defect. Salt-spray marine exposure, runoff from copper or lead, contact with treated lumber and faulty installation are excluded, and labor is covered only when the maker approves it in advance.

Who makes Best Buy Metals’ Tuff-Rib panels?

Best Buy Metals says its branches manufacture panels in house, and its Nationwide division ships from a network of 48 plants. The code approvals cited on its Tuff-Rib pages trace to other manufacturers: an ICC-ES report held by Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation, a Miami-Dade approval issued to Union Corrugating, and a Florida approval filed by Cornerstone Building Brands. We checked each number against the issuing body. For the profile itself, including every seller that uses the Tuff-Rib name and its Florida uplift ratings, see our Tuff-Rib metal roofing guide.

Sources: ICC-ES ESR-2385 PDF, Miami-Dade Product Control NOA 22-0720.02, Florida Building Commission product approval FL42379, all checked October 2026. An approval generally covers the panel made by its holder or the entities it lists, so a matching profile from another plant may not carry it. If your building department or insurer needs a specific approval, ask Best Buy Metals which plant will roll your order and request that plant’s approval documents.

Does Best Buy Metals list prices online?

Partly. Most Best Buy Metals panel pages show a “Request Pricing” button rather than a price, and pricing comes through a quote. Its Shopify store does list prices for accessories, trim and three panels. In October 2026 Tuff-Rib, Apex and Under-Deck panels each showed $2.94 with no unit, gauge or color selector, so treat that number as a starting point and confirm the unit before comparing.

Item (shop.bestbuymetals.com) Listed price, seen Oct 2026 Pack or size
Tuff-Rib Metal Roofing $2.94 No unit shown; 3 to 45 ft, 29 or 26 ga per description
Craftsman Board and Batten siding $2.09 No unit shown

Gable/rake trim $26.00 (29 ga) to $32.00 (26 ga) 10 ft
Ridge cap $19.95 (29 ga, 12 in) to $60.75 (26 ga, 16 in) 10 ft
1.5 in metal roof screws $24.99 Bag of 250
Tuff-Rib closures $5.99 (4-pack) or $67.50 (50-pack) 3 ft, inside or outside
Palisade synthetic underlayment $167.00 10 squares (1,000 sq ft)
MFM Wind and Water Seal ice and water shield $142.00 200 sq ft

Source: shop.bestbuymetals.com product listings, seen October 11, 2026. Prices exclude shipping, which the store calculates at checkout, and tax. The store notes that panel lead time is “2-3 weeks on average” and says to verify before purchasing.

What $2.94 could mean per square foot

If the $2.94 Tuff-Rib price is per linear foot, which is how cut-to-length panels are usually sold, each foot covers 3 sq ft at 36 inch coverage. That works out to about $0.98 per sq ft, or $98 per 100 sq ft roofing square, for the bare panel. This is a Roofing Brief estimate built only on the listing, not a quote from Best Buy Metals.

Line (Roofing Brief estimate, 2,000 sq ft of roof surface) Arithmetic Result
Panel coverage with 10% waste 2,000 x 1.10 2,200 sq ft
Linear feet of 36 in Tuff-Rib 2,200 / 3 About 733 lin ft
Panels, if $2.94 is per linear foot 733 x $2.94 About $2,156
Synthetic underlayment 3 rolls x $167 $501
Subtotal before trim, screws, closures, freight and tax $2,156 + $501 About $2,657

Trim, screws and closures depend on the roof’s eave, rake, ridge and valley lengths, so they are left out rather than guessed. Ask for a full material list with the quote; the company’s quotation sheet offers ridge vent, synthetic underlayment and ice and water shield as options.

How much does a metal roof on a 2,000 sq ft house cost?

Installed, a metal roof on a 2,000 sq ft home typically runs about $13,000 to $25,000 for exposed-fastener steel panels like Tuff-Rib and about $19,000 to $34,000 for snap-lock standing seam, per our 2026 metal roof cost guide, which draws on RSMeans 2025 and HomeAdvisor 2025 data. Material bought direct is only part of that total.

Labor, tear-off, decking repairs, flashing and permits make up most of the gap between a materials-only figure like the estimate above and an installed price. Roof pitch, the number of valleys and penetrations, and your local labor market all move the number, so get at least two installed bids that name the panel, gauge and finish. Buying materials direct can lower the material line, but some installers prefer to supply their own panels or charge more to install customer-supplied material, so ask before you order.

How to order from Best Buy Metals

Ordering from Best Buy Metals runs through a quote for panels and through the online store for tools and accessories. Panels are made to your lengths after payment, and the company states that produced orders cannot be canceled or returned. These steps follow the company’s quotation sheet, store policies and FAQ.

  1. Measure and choose the panel. Pick the profile, gauge and finish. The quotation sheet asks for a drawing, a material list or an address for a satellite takeoff, and warns that satellite quotes are approximate and should be verified before ordering.
  2. Request the quote. Call your branch or 800-728-4010, or use the quote form. Ask which plant will make the panels and for the written paint and substrate warranty that applies to that plant and color.
  3. Check the takeoff yourself. Best Buy Metals’ policy says the customer is responsible for ensuring the amounts and lengths specified are accurate, even when the company figures the takeoff from drawings.
  4. Pay and confirm lengths. Production may begin immediately after payment. An order can be canceled only if the material has not been produced.
  5. Arrange delivery or pickup. The company ships by plant truck, flatbed, LTL common carrier, UPS or FedEx, and can deliver to a freight forwarder for export. Ask your representative which method applies and what unloading help the driver provides.
  6. Inspect on arrival. Check counts, lengths, color and handling damage before the driver leaves, and photograph any problem. Plan angle cuts on site: the FAQ says factory angle cuts are not offered.

Order minimums, cut-to-length and returns

Neither Best Buy Metals website publishes a minimum order for panels as of October 2026. Panels are cut to the inch from 3 ft to 45 ft, although the 5V-Crimp page recommends 30 ft as a practical maximum for handling. Custom panels cannot be returned because they are made for each job. Store items such as tools may be canceled before they ship, are non-returnable in most cases, and may be exchanged with restocking charges and return shipping paid by the customer.

Best Buy Metals reviews and BBB record

Best Buy Metals, LLC has been BBB accredited since May 24, 2004 and carries an A+ rating on its Cleveland, Tennessee profile, per BBB listings as indexed in October 2026. BBB lists the Asheville location under a separate profile that is not accredited. An A+ rating reflects BBB’s own grading formula, not a product quality test, so read individual complaints on the profile.

Review platforms show mixed but limited samples. In October 2026, Google search results displayed a 3.8 rating from 10 Yelp reviews for “Best Buy Metal Roofing” in Cleveland and a 78% recommend rate from 24 Facebook reviews on the company’s main page. The testimonials on Best Buy Metals’ own websites are chosen by the company, so weigh them accordingly. Small samples like these can swing on a few experiences.

Best Buy Metals vs other direct metal roofing suppliers

Best Buy Metals sits between a local roll-former and a national online seller: branch manufacturing in four states plus nationwide shipping with no published minimum. Other suppliers that sell panels to homeowners use different models. Each fact in this table comes from that company’s own website in October 2026.

Supplier Footprint How homeowners buy Published minimum Finish or warranty note
Best Buy Metals 7 Southeast branches; Nationwide ships from “48 plants” Quote by phone or form; accessories and some panels online None published 40 or 50-yr paint on Tuff-Rib, by site

Is Best Buy Metals right for your project?

Best Buy Metals fits buyers who want cut-to-length steel delivered, especially near its Southeast branches, and who will verify the warranty and takeoff themselves. It fits less well when an exact approval is required or when you want a single company to supply and install. Use the table to match your situation to a sensible next step.

Your situation Sensible next step
You live near Cleveland, Chattanooga, Knoxville, Asheville, Charlotte, Greenville or Dalton Quote through the branch, which lists in-house manufacturing and the 50-yr paint terms; confirm them in writing
You live outside the Southeast and want a small DIY order Compare Best Buy Metals Nationwide (no published minimum) with local mills; Western States and Metal Roofing Source publish minimums
Your permit or insurer needs a Miami-Dade NOA or Florida approval Ask which plant rolls the panel and get that plant’s approval before ordering
You want hidden fasteners and fewer roof penetrations Price Titan-Loc 100 or Image II standing seam, then compare installed bids
You want one company to supply and install Hire a contractor who buys the panels; Best Buy Metals does not list installation
You need to return extra panels Order carefully: custom panels are non-returnable under the company’s policy

Generally no. Best Buy Metals’ store policy says its products are custom manufactured for each job, so it cannot accept returns, and an order can be canceled only before the material is produced. The customer is responsible for confirming quantities and lengths. Tools and accessories may be canceled before shipping, and some exchanges are possible with restocking charges.

What warranty comes with Best Buy Metals Tuff-Rib?

It depends on which plant and document apply. In October 2026 the branch site listed painted Tuff-Rib with a 50-year paint, 50-year substrate and 30-year fade and chalk warranty, and Galvalume at 45 years. The national site listed 40-year paint, 30-year fade and chalk, and 25-year Galvalume. Ask for the written warranty before paying.
