Elevate Roofing Review (2026): Owner, Specs and Red Shield Warranty Costs

Elevate roofing (formerly Firestone) reviewed: Amrize ownership, TPO, EPDM and PVC data sheet specs, and Red Shield warranty fees of $0.02 to $0.17/sq ft.

Elevate Roofing Review (2026): Owner, Specs and Red Shield Warranty Costs

By The Roofing Brief Team | Last reviewed: October 2026

Elevate roofing is the commercial roofing line that Bridgestone sold as Firestone Building Products until 2021, now made by Amrize, the North American company Holcim spun off on June 23, 2025. Elevate sells RubberGard EPDM, UltraPly TPO, Elevate PVC and MAX PVC, SBS and APP modified bitumen, ISOGARD polyiso and UNA-CLAD metal, backed by Red Shield warranties of 5 to 30 years, per its Red Shield warranties page.

This review is about the manufacturer, not local contractors that share the name. Search results for “Elevate Roofing” also show unrelated installers such as Elevate Roofing of Marion, Illinois, Elevate Roofing and Exteriors (BBB profile in Concord, North Carolina) and Elevated Roofing of Frisco, Texas; none of them is Amrize. Every figure below comes from Elevate technical information sheets dated 2025 to 2026, its December 2, 2025 warranty pricing guide, Holcim, Bridgestone and Amrize releases, the Amrize 2025 Form 10-K and dated retailer listings. We did not test any product.

Elevate roofing key numbers at a glance

These eight figures answer the questions owners, specifiers and job seekers ask first about Elevate roofing. Each comes from an Elevate, Amrize, Holcim or Bridgestone document dated between April 2021 and October 2026 and linked in the Source column, and fees or prices can change after the document date.

Who owns Elevate roofing, and is it the same company as Firestone?

Amrize owns Elevate roofing in North America, and Elevate is the same business that sold Firestone roofing. Bridgestone sold Firestone Building Products to a Holcim subsidiary for USD 3.4 billion on April 1, 2021; the brand became Elevate in June 2022; and Elevate moved to Amrize when Holcim completed its 100% spin-off on June 23, 2025, per the Elevate history timeline.

Amrize’s 2025 Form 10-K describes the deal the same way: Holcim acquired “Firestone Building Products (later renamed to Elevate Commercial Roofing Systems) in 2021”, then Malarkey in 2022 and Duro-Last in 2023. The filing counts 12 facilities under the Elevate business out of 51 Building Envelope facilities, and Elevate’s leaders page names Nevin Holly as president. For the Duro-Last side of the same segment, see our Duro-Last roofing review.

Outside North America the picture differs. As of October 2026, the European holcimelevate.com about page still says Elevate “is proud to be part of Holcim’s Building Envelope division” and says Holcim brands operate in 81 countries, so a project in the UK or the EU may carry a Holcim-issued Elevate warranty rather than an Amrize one. Ask which legal entity signs the warranty before a bid is accepted.

What Elevate makes: the roofing product lines

Elevate sells five low-slope roofing families plus insulation, and the warranty ceiling depends on the family and the thickness. The table compiles each line, its thicknesses and its longest Red Shield term from Elevate product pages and the Red Shield brochure dated 10/2025.

UltraPly TPO and MAX PVC specs from the 2026 data sheets

UltraPly TPO meets ASTM D6878 and MAX PVC meets ASTM D4434 Type III, and the two sheets differ most in the rubber layer above the scrim. The figures below are typical values from TIS 201 (July 2, 2026), TIS 209 (October 14, 2026) and TIS 2127 (October 14, 2026), not job-site guarantees.

Widest roll 12 ft 4 in x 100 ft 12 ft 4 in x 100 ft See TIS 209 10 x 100 ft TIS size tables

Two readings come out of these sheets. MAX PVC carries 0.031 in of polymer over its scrim at 60 mil, about 48% more than the 0.021 in on 60-mil UltraPly TPO, which is the layer that weathers away over the roof’s life. Elevate also prints an 18 x 9 threads-per-inch weft-inserted scrim for MAX PVC, a detail its product page uses to explain the tear values.

Elevate cool-roof values from the CRRC listings

White UltraPly TPO starts at 0.79 solar reflectance and ages to 0.69 after 3 years, which clears the 0.63 aged minimum that TIS 201 uses for California Title 24. The values below are the Cool Roof Rating Council figures Elevate prints on its 2026 data sheets, with each CRRC Rated Product ID.

Membrane and color Initial / 3-year solar reflectance Initial / 3-year SRI CRRC product ID Source
UltraPly TPO White 0.79 / 0.69 98 / 83 0008 TIS 201
UltraPly TPO Light Tan (HR) 0.73 / 0.66 90 / 87 0091 TIS 201
UltraPly TPO Gray 0.34 / 0.34 37 / 36 0032 TIS 201
MAX PVC White 0.86 / 0.62 108 / 74 0119 TIS 2127

MAX PVC Charcoal 0.09 / 0.10 3 / 5 0122 TIS 2127

White MAX PVC starts brighter than white UltraPly TPO (0.86 against 0.79) but its listed 3-year aged value is lower (0.62 against 0.69). On a California nonresidential low-slope job where the aged value decides compliance, white UltraPly TPO clears 0.63 and white MAX PVC, at 0.62, does not on these listed numbers, so ask the designer which threshold the permit uses.

RubberGard EPDM and ISOGARD polyiso

RubberGard Platinum is a 90-mil non-reinforced EPDM sheet weighing 0.58 lb per sq ft, sold 10 ft x 100 ft, 10 ft x 50 ft and 16 ft 8 in x 100 ft, per TIS 109 (August 20, 2025). It lists 207 lbf/in tear resistance against an ASTM D4637 minimum of 150, 1,371 psi tensile strength and a brittleness point that passes at minus 49 degrees F. Our EPDM thickness comparison sets these values beside Carlisle and Johns Manville sheets.

ISOGARD GL polyiso meets ASTM C1289 Type II Class 1, FM 4470 and UL 1256, and Elevate prints its R-values as 15-year time-weighted averages under CAN/ULC-S770, per TIS 901B (June 4, 2026). Thermal resistance per inch drops as the board warms: 6.2 at 40 degrees F, 5.7 at 75 degrees F and 5.0 at 110 degrees F under ASTM C518.

The UNA-CLAD UC-3 double-lock standing seam panel is made in Anoka, Minnesota, in 8 to 20 in widths, and needs a minimum 3:12 slope for a Red Shield warranty, per TIS 2003 (August 11, 2026). Elevate offers UNA-CLAD in copper, zinc, Acrylume and 31 standard PVDF-painted colors.

Elevate Red Shield warranty: terms, thickness minimums and coverage

Red Shield is Elevate’s no-dollar-limit labor and material warranty, sold only through licensed Elevate applicators, in terms of 5 to 30 years. The term you can buy depends on membrane thickness and attachment, and the 30-year Red Shield Platinum also needs new construction or a full tear-off, per footnote 1 of the Red Shield brochure.

What Red Shield covers and what voids it

Red Shield covers Elevate membrane, insulation, edge metal and accessories as one system, with no dollar cap on labor and materials to repair a warranted leak, and it transfers from owner to owner for the $1,000 fee in the December 2025 guide. Elevate’s brochure states that Red Shield warranties are for commercial and industrial roofs only, and that single-family residences qualify for membrane warranties only.

Changes after the warranty inspection are the common way owners lose coverage. Elevate requires a licensed contractor to file its Post-Warranty Alteration Form and an Overburden Waiver for rooftop additions, and states that skipping the procedure “may jeopardize the warranty”. The pricing guide charges a $750 reinstatement fee, $750 for the fifth and each later warranty inspection, and $150 for a manually signed copy.

How much does an Elevate Red Shield warranty cost?

An Elevate Red Shield warranty costs $0.02 per sq ft for 5 years up to $0.17 per sq ft for the 30-year Platinum, with minimums of $150 to $1,275, according to Elevate’s Domestic U.S. Warranty Pricing Guide dated 12/2/2025. The applicator buys the warranty and builds the fee into the bid, so owners see it inside the roofing price rather than as a separate invoice.

Warranty Term $ per sq ft Minimum Coverage limit
Red Shield Platinum 30 years $0.17 $1,275 No dollar limit
Red Shield Platinum 25 years $0.14 $1,050 No dollar limit
Red Shield 20 years $0.10 $750 No dollar limit
Red Shield 15 years $0.08 $600 No dollar limit
Red Shield 10 years $0.05 $375 No dollar limit
Red Shield 5 years $0.02 $150 No dollar limit
Cut and Puncture add-on 5 to 30 years +$0.02 Not stated Included free on RubberGard MAX
Hail, 1 / 2 / 3 in 1 and 2 in: 5 to 30 yr; 3 in: 5 to 20 yr +$0.01 / +$0.02 / +$0.03 $75 / $150 / $225 Not available on metal
Membrane only 10 to 30 years None $0 to $400 Original product cost

Wind coverage is priced as a replacement rate, not an add-on. On a 30-year Platinum the rate climbs from $0.17 at 72 mph to $0.19 at 80, $0.20 at 90, $0.21 at 100, $0.23 at 110 and $0.24 per sq ft at 120 mph, and each step needs a Regional Technical Coordinator review before bid. Metal systems above 80 mph need an engineer’s report and top out at 110 mph.

The 7,500 sq ft minimum rule

Every Red Shield minimum in the December 2025 guide equals its per-square-foot rate multiplied by 7,500 sq ft: $1,275 is 0.17 x 7,500, $750 is 0.10 x 7,500 and $150 is 0.02 x 7,500. A roof smaller than 7,500 sq ft therefore pays the minimum, so a 3,000 sq ft roof with a 20-year Red Shield pays $750, or $0.25 per sq ft instead of $0.10.

Worked example: Red Shield fees on a 40,000 sq ft TPO re-roof

This Roofing Brief estimate prices the warranty on a 40,000 sq ft full tear-off with 80-mil UltraPly Platinum TPO, fully adhered over a cover board other than ISOGARD HG. Rates come from the 12/2/2025 pricing guide; the installed range uses HomeGuide’s $4 to $10 per sq ft for TPO.

Line Rate Fee How it was worked
30-year Platinum at 110 mph wind $0.23 per sq ft $9,200 40,000 x 0.23; replaces the $0.17 base ($6,800)
2 in hail coverage +$0.02 $800 40,000 x 0.02
Cut and Puncture Protection +$0.02 $800 40,000 x 0.02
Total warranty fee $0.27 per sq ft $10,800 Sum of the three lines
Installed TPO roof $4 to $10 per sq ft $160,000 to $400,000 40,000 x HomeGuide range
Warranty share of the roof n/a 2.7% to 6.75% 10,800 / 400,000 and 10,800 / 160,000
Same roof, 20-year Red Shield, 60 mil, no add-ons $0.10 $4,000 40,000 x 0.10

Over ISOGARD HG composite insulation, the guide’s footnote says the Platinum puncture, hail and wind package includes 100 mph wind, Cut and Puncture Protection and 2 in hail at no added charge, which reads as the $0.17 base, or $6,800 on this roof. Confirm that reading with Elevate Technical Services at 800-428-4511 before comparing bids.

Where Elevate’s own documents disagree

Elevate’s web page, its October 2025 brochure, its December 2025 pricing guide and its 2026 data sheets give different numbers for the same coverage in at least five places. Contractor pages that rank for “Elevate roofing warranty” repeat one source or another, so the table sets them side by side.

Topic Red Shield web page Other Elevate document Practical reading
Platinum hail size Puncture/hail covers 2 in hail Brochure 10/2025: hail up to 3 in Pricing guide sells 3 in hail only on 5 to 20-year terms, so a 30-year roof tops out at 2 in
Platinum wind speed Puncture/hail/wind covers 100 mph Brochure: wind up to 120 mph 100 mph is included over ISOGARD HG; 110 and 120 mph cost $0.23 and $0.24 per sq ft
25-year PVC KEE thickness Minimum 80 mil Brochure footnote 2: minimum 60 mil; PVC KEE page lists 60 mil at 20 years Ask for the term in writing for the exact mil and attachment
UNA-CLAD metal term Listed under 30-year Platinum UNA-CLAD page: eligible for 35-year Platinum Guide lists a 35-year paint finish warranty capped at original product cost; leak coverage tops at 30
California cool-roof threshold n/a UltraPly TPO page cites 0.55 aged reflectance TIS 201 (July 2026) uses a 0.63 aged minimum; check the permit’s code edition

None of these differences means a warranty is unavailable; they mean the signed warranty, not the marketing page, sets the terms. Before signing, ask the applicator for the Pre-Installation Notice (PIN) approval showing term, wind speed in mph, hail diameter in inches and any Special Conditions, which the guide says are not accepted on 5-year or Platinum warranties.

How much does an Elevate roof cost installed?

Elevate does not publish installed prices, so cost comes from contractor bids. HomeGuide’s TPO cost guide puts installed TPO at $4 to $10 per sq ft, and its flat roof replacement guide (November 2025) lists EPDM at $4 to $10 and PVC at $5 to $12. Elevate membranes sit inside those bands; thickness, insulation, tear-off and warranty term move a bid within them.

Elevate PVC, PVC KEE, MAX PVC $5 to $12 $50,000 to $120,000 HomeGuide flat roof guide, Nov 2025

Retail listings show what the membrane itself costs. As listed in October 2026, Arbor (superarbor.io) prices Elevate UltraPly TPO 0.060 in x 10 ft x 100 ft White (SKU FIRUPT6010100WH) at $775 a roll, about $0.78 per sq ft, and ISOGARD GL 2.6 in x 4 ft x 8 ft, R-15 (SKU 58FSIS2648) at $60.90 a board. Prices change, and distributors such as QXO also list Elevate membranes for contractor accounts.

Material line, 10,000 sq ft roof Quantity Cost How it was worked
UltraPly TPO 60 mil, 10 x 100 ft white 11 rolls $8,525 10,000 / 950 sq ft net per roll with 6 in laps (net coverage Elevate prints for 10 x 100 ft PVC rolls), rounded up; x $775
ISOGARD GL 2.6 in, R-15.0 313 boards $19,061.70 10,000 / 32 sq ft, rounded up; x $60.90

20-year Red Shield fee n/a $1,000 10,000 x $0.10; above the $750 minimum

On this Roofing Brief estimate, membrane and insulation alone are 28% to 69% of HomeGuide’s $40,000 to $100,000 installed band for a 10,000 sq ft TPO roof. Tear-off, deck repair, edge metal and labor fill the rest. For thickness-by-thickness pricing, see our TPO membrane pricing by mil.

Elevate roofing reviews: what the record shows

Elevate sells through licensed applicators and distributors, so there is no large consumer review base for the manufacturer; Yelp and BBB reviews under “Elevate Roofing” belong to local contractors. The checkable record is Elevate’s contractor program: since 1988 its Master Contractor award has gone to the top 5% of Red Shield Licensed Roofing Contractors by quality and warranted square footage, per a February 17, 2026 release.

One product award is on record: MAX PVC was named the 2026 People’s Choice Winner in the Roofing Products category at the International Roofing Expo, a vote of contractors and industry professionals, per the Elevate home page. A vote is not a performance test, and Elevate does not publish field failure rates, nor do Carlisle or Johns Manville.

How to vet an Elevate installer

  1. Search the Elevate Find a Contractor tool by ZIP code and note whether the firm is listed as a licensed Red Shield applicator or Master Contractor.
  2. Ask for the warranty term, wind speed in mph and hail size in inches in writing, and confirm the membrane thickness meets the minimum: 80 mil TPO or PVC, or 90 mil EPDM, for 30 years.
  3. Ask whether the bid includes the Red Shield fee, for example $0.10 per sq ft for 20 years, and whether the roof is under the 7,500 sq ft minimum threshold.
  4. Confirm the applicator will submit a Pre-Installation Notice before work starts and schedule Elevate’s warranty inspection at completion.
  5. Get the contractor’s own workmanship term separately, because a membrane-only warranty on a house pays only the original product cost.
  6. File the issued warranty with the building records and note the $1,000 transfer fee if the property may sell.

Elevate vs Carlisle SynTec, Johns Manville and Duro-Last

Elevate competes with Carlisle SynTec and Johns Manville on warranty ceilings, fees and transfer terms, and shares an owner with Duro-Last. The table uses each maker’s current warranty documents as summarized in our brand reviews; none of these makers publishes comparable failure-rate data.

Code compliance sits with the membrane standard. The 2018 International Building Code Section 1507.12.2 requires thermoset single-ply such as RubberGard EPDM to meet ASTM D4637 or D5019, Section 1507.13.2 requires thermoplastic single-ply to meet ASTM D4434, D6754 or D6878, and both sections set a minimum design slope of 1/4 in per 12 in.

Which Elevate system fits your building?

Pick the Elevate line by the warranty you need, the roof’s exposure and the slope; the thresholds below come from Elevate documents dated October 2025 to October 2026. Where two options qualify, the cheaper warranty term is usually the one that matches the owner’s hold period.

Who owns Elevate roofing products?

Amrize Ltd (NYSE: AMRZ) owns Elevate roofing products in North America. Holcim bought Firestone Building Products from Bridgestone for USD 3.4 billion, closing on April 1, 2021, renamed it Elevate in June 2022, and then spun off its North American business as Amrize on June 23, 2025. Elevate now sits in the Amrize Building Envelope segment with Duro-Last, Malarkey and Gaco.

Who makes Elevate roofing?

Elevate makes its own membranes and insulation. Its about page lists an EPDM plant in Prescott, Arkansas, TPO plants in Tuscumbia, Alabama and Wellford, South Carolina, an asphalt plant in Beech Grove, Indiana, a metal plant in Anoka, Minnesota and seven polyiso plants. Amrize Building Envelope LLC of Nashville issues the data sheets, warranties and pricing guides.

Are Firestone and Elevate the same company?

Yes. Elevate is the former Firestone Building Products business. In a June 2022 letter, Elevate said its products are made in the same US plants with the same materials, formulations and quality programs as the Firestone-branded products, and that FM, UL and ICC listings were being updated to the Elevate name. The Firestone brand is now fully discontinued.

Does Holcim still own Elevate?

Not in North America. Holcim completed the 100% spin-off of Amrize on June 23, 2025, and the US and Canadian Elevate business went with Amrize. As of October 2026, the European holcimelevate.com about page still describes Elevate as part of Holcim’s Building Envelope division, so check which company issues the warranty on a project outside North America.

What are the top five roofing companies?

No public source ranks roofing manufacturers by US market share. Large commercial membrane makers commonly specified side by side are Carlisle SynTec, GAF, Elevate (Amrize), Johns Manville and Sika Sarnafil. Only Carlisle and Amrize report audited roofing segment revenue: Amrize reported USD 3,301 million of Building Envelope revenue for 2025, a figure that also includes shingles and wall products.

How much does an Elevate Red Shield warranty cost?

Elevate’s December 2, 2025 pricing guide lists Red Shield fees of $0.02 per sq ft for 5 years up to $0.10 for 20 years, and Red Shield Platinum at $0.14 for 25 years and $0.17 for 30 years. Every minimum equals the rate times 7,500 sq ft, so a 30-year Platinum warranty costs at least $1,275. Wind, hail and puncture upgrades add to the fee.

Does an Elevate warranty cover a house?

Only partly. Elevate’s October 2025 Red Shield brochure says Red Shield limited warranties are for commercial and industrial roofing only, and single-family residences are eligible for Elevate membrane warranties only. A membrane-only warranty is limited to the original product cost and does not pay for labor, so a homeowner should ask the installer who covers workmanship and for how long.

How do I file an Elevate roof warranty claim?

Call Amrize Warranty Services at 800-428-4442, which the Red Shield brochure lists as staffed 24 hours a day, or use the Report a Leak form on elevatecommercialbp.com. Have the warranty number, roof size and leak location ready. Changes made to the roof after the warranty inspection must be reported on Elevate’s Post-Warranty Alteration Form, or coverage may be at risk.
